AS, you are the only guy complaining if your framerate is not 60 or more :music_whistling:

playing a sim under 50fps ...is frustration !!! ....its...

i agree with you. but currently 30fps is my threshold for DCS:mad:

30 FPS on such machine? Hehehe It is not optimistic, even if it is lowest value...

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

If you have min of 30 fps, with all settings at max, flying low, roof tops above Sevastopol, a two columns of tanks are shooting at each other and there is 40 airplanes in the air, few of which are launching missiles, then you have good machine.

Im not complaining.... cuz its NOT less then that..... there are reasons why i say 60FPS is a threshold for simming...

If i would have the choice to enjoy best gfx with 25fps or fuggly gfx with 70fps...i would pick 2nd

And me - Definitely the First Option!

I'd rather toddle along with my Zimmer at a sedate 25FPS enjoying all the Eye-Candy than zooming about at 70FPS on a rollercoaster all the while being Skullfcuked by the fuggly graphics and attendant Jaggies.

It's All Good! :D

Edit: By no means an expert opinion here, but is there not an argument that states that any more than 30 FPS is superflous, vindicated by the supposition that the Human Eye cannot process more than 29/30FPS in any event?

Aye, there's an argument, but it is more complex than it seems at first sight. Basically, the eyes aren't exactly working in individual frames and there's a lot of components where what we see isn't actually what the eyes are seeing but rather a projection that the brain has made on what it expects to see. This can (from my understanding) cause a game - where you are actively taking part - to appear stuttery at 25fps whereas a movie (you being passive) would appear perfectly flowing.

We'd probably need a neurologist specialized on the visual cortex to settle that debate. :P

I prefer the good graphics with less performance (at least if it's something flyable as 5fps for example is definitely not ;) ) over jaggies and blurred textures... if F4 had lockon graphics, or even something close I'd be back to it.

i can't find the city.........

for a more detailed test, i7 965 could still not handle DCS well:mad:
