Here's the fix.  Youtube vid made by my flying partner:

Thank you. I know about this fix. I use DCS Steam and I had to add to exceptions not only F-14, but also the download folder, because the installation files downloaded to it were deleted or quarantined, which is why the DCS installation was interrupted and I got the message: missing files.

I think this is not a good way to solve the problem. How long will it work? Eventually, there may come a time when everything will go to hell with a big bang.

How long will it work? For as long as Defender etc allow users to add exclusions: which is going to be always, since it is a necessary function of AV software.

Dear ed team, facing same problems, system shut downs, cannot enter taskmanager, black screens, slow to even nil fps suddenly after patch! Tried prior patch again, and then no issues , smooth as butter! No hardware changes , no system changes…..no mods….. get even black screen when start up then able to get into a mission and then complete standstill , …..very strange, never had issues like that? Cannot attach log file for the moment but will asap

Please raise a new post with your logs attached. It sounds like you have a different problem so shouldn’t hijack other people’s posts which are now solved.

Do you know what a rhetorical question is?

Tried all sorts of fixes which seemed to work for a while like core parking, cleaning some metashaders2 cache from saved games, getting latest nvidia drivers.

Now  i found a new solution when stutters re-appeared by disabling some unused usb driver with USBdeview.exe.  Again no stutters, but for how long ??

Nope, tried again and again…..back to earlier update and all ok …….this new update seems not to work for me, tried the app for unparking , it went ok for 5min and then….pc crashed, black screen and very slow response on the menus, had to execute a cold restart of the pc because i could not exit dcs? …..will try to submit my logs tomorrow morning for both patches because something screwed up ….😞

The game is totally unplayable at this stage. Just starting and Idling at the menu gives me severe lag spikes

Same here...

Just amazing...

Key binding gone as well))

Looks like  only 2 games in this Universe have problem with  core parking -DCS and Star Citizen

All  others works perfectly on my system.

I had this exact same issue.  However, I found that if I turned off my USB display devices (Winwing MFD).. the game ran 100% fine.  I tested with a buddy of mine who had the same issue with different model MFD USB displays.  Game worked fine for him once he turned off the USB displays.  If you have USB displays, turn them off and try the game against using just one screen.  Then report back here what you find.  I, personally, believe that the latest updated messed up the ability for DCS to handle these types of displays and still run the game.  Curious what you all find out.

Here's videos of DCS running with USB displays turned on and then turned off.  The difference for me was night and day.

For me installing the Nvidia Studio Driver instead of the Game Ready Driver helped. At least for a few sessions. Then it seemed to return although not as bad as previously. There may be a combination of issues.

Good afternoon,
My DCS was working perfectly and without any issues. Yesterday I updated and I'm having the same performance issues, freezing than the others, and it's become unplayable. What I don't understand is how it was working perfectly 3 days ago, and now it's unplayable after the update.
Here's my log.

Thank you in advance and for your patience.

Here's my log.

Start by deleting your FXO and METASHADERS 2 folders from your saved games.

Then remove your mods.

And it looks like DCS-BIOS is fighting with FC3 so that could be causing things to hang up too.

Thank you for your help. The question that comes to mind is why it was working 3 days ago and now it's not after the update, if before I had the same mods, the same hardware, the same drivers, etc. It's surreal.

You haven't been around long based on your number of posts.  After you've been here for a bit you'll realize how often MODS break things after DCS updates.  Works fine before and breaks things (even seemingly unrelated things in some cases) after.  Great example was the update where a number of different mod planes caused the supercarrier to not spawn when starting a mission (even if you didn't have the mod airplane in the mission).  You would start a mission with say F-18 on the supercarrier and you would instantly plunge into the ocean and die because there was no carrier.  Remove the mods and the carrier worked fine again.

First of all, thanks a lot for the help.

Well, if we only consider my history with ED: I was an SU-27 Flanker (SSI) user in the 90s, Flanker 2.0 late 90s, a LOMAC user since 2003 when it was introduced (I still have the original CD), and I bought my first DCS module in 2011, having 44 modules/ terrain/ missions now, as the ED admins can surely attest, you can consider I haven't been around very long, given the number of posts I've published.

Aside from that, given what you mentioned about mods, I must be very lucky because I've never had any problems with any update before, never ever. I've had to completely reinstall the simulator several times when I changed computer components, but never because of an update. I have colleagues and friends experiencing the same problems since this latest update, some of them without any mods, with a "clean" and newly installed sim, some with VR and others without, so it's not a problem isolated to mods in my opinion, but I´m not a developer. That's not even considering the CPU overheating issues we've been experiencing since the update.

I don't write on forums or news comments, social media, etc., to avoid certain types of users—which isn't your case, since you've tried to help me—who are always against everything, enjoy harming others, "full time professional haters" or simply they consider themselves to be in possession of the absolute truth, and many other things besides. I repeat, I'm not referring to you. I read a lot, perhaps too much, but that doesn't mean I've been in this world for a short time just because I don't comment. In my case, it goes back to Psion's Flight Simulator on the ancient Spectrum, which was my first sim. After that, almost every sim on the market came along on various platforms, both civilian and military.

Thanks for your advice, and I'll try disabling the mods and doing the cleanup suggested above. I need DCS-BIOS to use some modules, as you can see in the attached photo of my setup. As you can see, I'm exclusively with the FA-18C at the moment. F-16 is awaiting.

Seeing that there are quite a few people with knowledge about configurations, actions to take after an update, and other important aspects for DCS stability, perhaps someone could consider creating a guide. In my background, almost everything is written and implemented based on guide documents. I think it wouldn't be a bad idea. I'll leave the challenge to the administrators (who, I know, have a lot of work to do).

Thanks for the help again.
