Hi everyone,

I am definitely going crazy with DCS...

I hadn't played for the past 2 days, today I wanted to start it but impossible to start up the game. The '15 years of DCS' window opens and keeps loading undefinitely. I have tried a few things, then decided to uninstall then re-install DCS but the issue is still here, impossible to start DCS. The same '15 years of DCS' keeps loading and nothing happens. 

Do you have any idea what I can do? I do not have any DCS log unfortunately as the game won't load. 

Any clue? Appreciate any tips.

dcs.log file is always created the instant DCS starts, weird u do not have one inside saved games / dcs / logs folder

Should I try this ?

Just to give you the big picture, I made a new computer a few days ago and I was able to load the game without any issues. And suddenly today after 2 days of not playing I have got this issue. Strange !

even if you have say 64G of RAM (which I do) a program can ask for silly amounts of virtual RAM, which would be rejected by u having it set to 4G

trying increasing page file size and then reboot try DCS again see if it poops itself

64 GB of RAM and 4 GB of pagefile here, and no issues. DCS does not need that much RAM to reach the main menu anyway.

I think the issue is somewhere else:

DLL files are being checked one by one and it takes several minutes, which is not normal. First possible culprit: the antivirus.

@-Scrat- If you haven't already, add your DCS World installation folder as an exception in your antivirus. Then start DCS and see  if that changes anything.

Can you drop a screenshot of that Windows Defender folder exclusion.

Uninstalling and reinstalling will also not remove the Saved Games\DCS folder. Can you rename that to DCS.old (so you can get it back again and/or any keybinds) and start DCS again to see if that makes any difference.

Hi everyone,

I think I've found where the issue came from. If I do not have an Internet connection or if using a VPN, I can start DCS without any problem. As soon as I start DCS with an Internet connection without VPN, it doesn't work. So weird. Thanks for your help and I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for your precious feedback. Some other users have been having the same issue. One of them has solved the issue he was having with PIA VPN:
