Endoplasmic Reticulum Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Hi all. It's me again:D. I was wondering if this game err... sorry SIM attracts the opposite sex in any way. Are there any female Hokumneeresses in this forum? Most of you guys say that your girlfriends and wives HATE this sim and are jealous, because you spend much more time with BS than with her. So I'm curious how many girls/women in here spend time with this sim. Don't worry. I'm neither looking for a date (maybe MP, but thats all :music_whistling:) nor seeking a relationship. I think a little sex-check would be interesting. I hope my post won't stay unanswered and does'nt get ignored. So hit the keyboards, girls. Adios muchachos y muchachas. P.S. Before i forget: I'm Male. Just wanted to be the first to tell ;). I used to love her, but I had to kill her I had to put her, six feet under And I can still hear her complain A tribute to BBetty and NNadja :bye_3:
basscadets rriatt Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Bumping for a vote system on this one:smartass: would be interesting to find out i reckon its 70 to 30% [sIGPIC]http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o477/basscadet-2008/ScreenShot_023copy-1.jpg[/sIGPIC]
joey45 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I don't think there's that meny. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Endoplasmic Reticulum Posted August 22, 2009 Author Posted August 22, 2009 I don't think there's that meny. I'm also quite sure that there are very few, but I find it interesting how many and who they are. Endoplasmic Reticulum Posted August 22, 2009 Author Posted August 22, 2009 Well then, guys! Then we have some work to do. We have a message to spread to the women on the globe and tell them what they will be missing in life when not playing BS. As an alternative ED could bring out a female version and replace the pilot with a Barbie in a pink camo-suit and rename the sim in "DCS:White Horse". What do you think of that? I used to love her, but I had to kill her I had to put her, six feet under And I can still hear her complain A tribute to BBetty and NNadja :bye_3:

EtherealN Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I'm afraid the best I've achieved is to make female friends play various shooters, strategy games and RPG's. Not even the ex who worked as a game critic at the same time as I cared for simulators. :( It's hard enough to get women active in the very "manly" world of private aviation, so when we combine aviation with the manly stuff of high-fidelity-simulators I guess it becmes even harder. (And by manly I mean it just in the sense of a look at general demographics.) Endoplasmic Reticulum Posted August 22, 2009 Author Posted August 22, 2009 Well, we have "Mizzy" ;) She's part of the beta team as well. Thats good news. Then, Hello Mizzy. See yourself as #1 in this thread:pilotfly:. It's all about you in here ;). It's hard enough to get women active in the very "manly" world of private aviation, so when we combine aviation with the manly stuff of high-fidelity-simulators I guess it becmes even harder. You're right, but unfortunately. Most people stick to those typical gender oriented cliches. A point of view which i absolutely don't share. If something is fun, it's fun! Regardles of the gender (ok, I would'nt play with barbies though and high heels are a pain ;)). I hope some more women show up who love BS. I used to love her, but I had to kill her I had to put her, six feet under And I can still hear her complain A tribute to BBetty and NNadja :bye_3:

Mizzy Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) You will find VERY VERY few female combat flight simers, it is not an issue I would worry about personally ;) You will find many more females in the FSX community. We have a local club for FX hear where I live and about 20% are females none of which ever play combat flight sims! It's not something a woman would want to do. I may be wrong but I doubt it!! EtherealN Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I contest the notion of "fighting no". Back in high school a female friend of mine played one type of game and that only - shooters. Somewhat interestingly, she once actually referred to her choice as "well, I guess it's because I'm female, all those other games just seem boring". So instead of focusing on gender I'd be more inclined on looking at those social and cultural elements that are inculcated into our children as a function of their gender - nothing intrinsic about the gender itself. Indeed, the only female friend of mine at the time that played computer games at all who was not like that preferred strategy games like Heroes of Might and Magic. So we just need to procreate and then cause both genders of our kids to play with toy aircraft when they're small. Then it's all set. :D 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
