jaz85 Posted Monday at 09:07 AM Posted Monday at 09:07 AM Since the latest update, Oct 22 DCS 2.9.21.16362, AI helicopters with wheeled landing gear are ignoring the "Prefer Take Off/Land vertically = on" Mission Editor option when taking off from airfields. Rather, they are taxiing to the active runway and then making rolling take offs. Prior to this latest update, the same helicopters with that setting enabled would take off vertically rather than taxi to the active. Attached please find Caucasus vertical takeoff test.miz and .trk files. Thank you. Caucasus vertical takeoff test.miz Caucasus vertical takeoff test.trk 1

NoJoy Posted Monday at 06:04 PM Posted Monday at 06:04 PM I have just seen this aswell during a self made mission. Chinooks & Blackhawks are set to t/o vertically but travel all the way down to the rwy. I checked the option and re-saved the mission. As the mission is very long and the helo action begins later during the mission I didn't save the track though. Cheers 1 Brrrrrrrrrrrt I'd rather call in a Strike Eagle... Thanks for chiming in. I did open, edit, and save some missions since this latest update, and the behavior stays the same. The miz (and trk) file I attached earlier are new, created just yesterday, in order to report this. That said, I have noticed, in other cases, things like you mention -- where a new DCS patch might necessitate a re-save of an older mission. Oh I did remove ALL mods from my Saved Games/DCS folder before creating and "flying" the attached mission. 1
NoJoy Posted yesterday at 07:15 AM Posted yesterday at 07:15 AM I made a mission to double check and what happens is that 2 of 4 helos refusing to take off vertically. The Blackhawk and the Blackshark always take off via rwy. I also tried having only one of each in the mission but the behavior is the same. Though I haven't tried all choppers in the game there seems to be something not right. cauc_helo_vert_t-o_test.trk 2 Brrrrrrrrrrrt I'd rather call in a Strike Eagle... MAXsenna Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Thank you for reporting this. I think this report should be moved to the AI bug section, as it involves AI. Cheers!
