Furiz Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Someone sent you Mark Point data. Essentially they shared the mark point with group. 1 1
Tenkom Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Click the switch next to the DCS switch on the ICP down to remove it. The one that has DRIFT C/O above and WARN RESET below.
Solution MeanJim Posted November 1 Solution Posted November 1 To be more specific, someone in another F-16 that is part of your flight or donor group has transmitted their selected Steerpoint, SPI, or SEAD Target over Datalink. The MKPT529 indicates that it was stored as Mark Point 529. They start at 500 (or is it 501) and increment up each time you receive one. You can select the steerpoint to see what was transmitted by pressing the STPT button on the ICP and enter the number. I take this was on a MP server. This means someone probably bound the HOTAS button assigned to "Transmit Switch - IFF IN" to something like Discord or SRS PTT and doesn't realize every time they long press it, it transmits their selected STPT, SPI, or SEAD target to all of their flight members and donors. 1

So if I have steer point 9 selected (of the pre-made steer points that some PVE servers have) and I transmit it in multiplayer, it will come up as 'MKPT 500' or '501' for other players? Why doesn't it just come up as the actual steer point that everyone knows of as 9? https://YouTube.com/@British_Dragon-4k-Simulations?si=4JVEdAn0ughQyNj_?sub_confirmation=1 My YouTube Channel: British Dragon - Simulation Based Training 2 - YouTube Call sign: Albion 1-4| Dragon AKA British Dragon

The avionics aren't transmitting steerpoints, it's transmitting coordinate data and filling in the next available slot in the steerpoint allocation. Other F-16s could have different flight plans, so your steerpoint 9 could be different from someone else's. The F-16 sending the data doesn't care what steerpoint is currently selected, it's just sending the location. 1 REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/

Certain stpt ranges are designated for certain functions. 500-699 is for various data one of which is shared coordinate data between wingmen (which creates a L16 markpoint). Whereas, 26-30 is designated for your own created markpoints, and then 21-25 which is used for MGRS entry. And hopefully in the near future 31-55 is for creating GEO Lines. But don't get it wrong, you can still use those for regular stpt data but you should get in the habit of leaving them open in order to use their actual function. Real world, pilots typical just use a few or the first 20 stpts for route planning. The other hundreds of stpts are used for various things like landmarks, other airfields within the area of operation to include divert/emergency airfields, Geo lines and markpoints as mentioned, preplanned threats, IPs, the list goes on and on. 1 My PC: GPU-AMD 6800XT OC / CPU- AMD RYZEN 5800X OC / 32 GB RAM 3200Mhz / 1TB SSD / 2TB HDD / 500GB M.2 / Monitor: 34" Ultrawide Samsung 1000R Curve / WinWing F16EX HOTAS / TM Cougar MFDs / TM TPR Rudder Pedals / TrackIR5 / ICP

Do you know if they have mentioned geo lines? It’s really useful to draw the front lines. Or a coast line for that little extra SA.

Or a coast line for that little extra SA. Yes. Wags specifically mentioned it in his recent interview with Deephack where he states it is the next set of things being worked on along with the rest of navigation tools. And you can also see it in the DTC setup "GEO LINES".
