Itkovian
Good day. I am having a problem with training missions, where the camera seems more zoomed in than the "tutorial" expects. The result is that I don't see what is going on, as the camera is too zoomed in (note that this is before taking control, I'm just watching the "animation" and listening to the narration). For example, in ABRIS introduction mission, when the mission takes you through turning on the ABRIS, the camera then focuses on the ABRIS screen as it boots up, but all I actually see is the upper left corner of the screen. Any help would be thouroughly appreciated. Thank you. Itkovian
Triangle99
Have you messed around with the resolution settings in your options.lua and accidentally changed the avi settings (I am assuming those are for the vid playback but pls correct me if I am wrong)? Itkovian
No, I am not talking of videos, but rather the training missions in the game (which you can take control of). These missions have narration and start off with the computer in control of cursor and camera... the problem is the camera is too zoomed in and so I don't see anything the mission is trying to show me (in this case, I only see the top left corner of the ABRIS screen because the camera is zoomed in too much). Itkovian
Anyone? I'd love to watch those training imssions, but right now it simply doesn't work. Maybe I messed up some sort of default camera setting, but I don't know how to reset it. Itkovian

Feuerfalke
It's not a bug, it's a feature - it really is, this time. You can either use the recorded views or manually control it. What comes in handy e.g. for analyzing previous flights or record movies can be a pain, if you accidently enabled manual viewcontrol. I had that, too, with a training-mission. Removed it rather by trail and error. Give it a try and e.g. remove your TrackIR-hat before watching the track or toggle between mouse-look and mouse-control (ALT-C?) after starting the training and reload the track if it fails. Right, I figured I must have messed something up. I don't have track IR, however, but I figured I msut have messed something up with the camera, but can't for the life of me figure out what. I'll try what you wrote, but if anyone has any other suggestion, I would appreciate it. Itkovian
Vibora
Did you try changing the monitor resolution? Roberto "Vibora" Seoane Alas Rojas [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Itkovian
No, but I don't think that would help. The game itself works fine, it's the in-cockpit camera that is zoomed in more than the training mission anticipates, but I can't fix it without taking control of the mission, in which case the training is no longer going on, which rather defeats the purpose. I think the problem is that I somehow messed up my default camera view, so that it is more zoomed in than it should be. For example, whenever I start a mission, ANY mission, the camera is zoomed in so that the top edge of the HUD is at the top of the screen, the bottom of the Shkval TV is at the bottom edge of the screen, and the lamps test button and SADI are at the left and right edges of the screen. So somehow my default camera position/zoom level got messed up, and I need to reset it. Itkovian
Itkovian
Ah ah! Got it! The realisation that this was the default camera position for all missions led me to try out zooming out and use "save cockpit angle", which seems to have resolved the situation. Thank you. :) Itkovian

Pogo
Hi, One work-around that I've found is to play the training mission tracks rather than the missions themselves. This allows you to control the cockpit camera and zoom out so that you can see what the instructor is doing on the various panels. I hope this helps. Cheers, Pogo Edit: Ah I now see that you found another work-around.
