JD_LincsUK Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Regardless of authenticity, it added a very interesting (imho) twist to the mission. It was my first op against enemy forces covered by SAMs in BS, and it certainly added to the challenge, costing me 4 ships in total (one indirectly - thanks again, Rusty ;) ). Besides which, didn't you manage to frag a Roland or two, Eddie? The main method was just to fly very low to get past them - and it worked. I even had my gear down and touched the ground several times whilst sneaking past one - but it kept me alive. Stay below 15m and you're okay. JD
Haril Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Anyone planning on turning up for this this week?
faker_404 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I'll be around if the server is going up......
Eddie Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I'm otherwise engaged again this week (and probably next) unfortunately.
HiJack Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I was bussy tonight but had the server up, saw a couple of pilots there :D I will be more active again next weekend ;)
MackTheKnight Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Does anybody else think Saturday at 2 PM would be a better time than Sundays? Most of my Sundays are booked with family stuff... :) -Mack
Haril Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 That's fine by me - better than sunday anyway as I'll be able to play for longer without breaking through the time I need to sleep for work the next day.
HiJack Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Can do both :D Server vill be up saturday at 1 PM GMT and sunday from about the same time. Map will be changed when the current one is finished. If everyone logs off the server the mission pauses and starts up again when a new player joins ;) There will be a new password and the only way to get it is by joining ED's teamspeak. But wait! Is'nt FC2 on the shelf the 26th? Or is that a joke I've eaten  ®
MackTheKnight Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Thanks, Rusty. Provided I don't get called into work, I'll be at the Saturday event. -Mack
HiJack Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Thanks, Rusty. Provided I don't get called into work, I'll be at the Saturday event. -Mack I’m sorry but I’m tangled in a web of events here so I can’t host the server for tonight’s rookie meet-up, sorry  ®
MackTheKnight Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 No worries - Turns out I've been stuck at work for the past 25 hours and have another 12 to go... :noexpression:
JD_LincsUK Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 I would host myself, but I have a problem starting the server. I get the flashing 'pause' symbol, but I can't click it (nothing happens) or otherwise get it to start, when everything else is ready. :noexpression: JD

Sabre-TLA Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Thanks again for hosting Hijack. It was alot of fun. Do you have the Dogs of War Campaign? I've been trying some of those missions in single player and I think these would be good to try at our next Rookie meetup. Campaign Type - Multiplayer Coop Campaign Number of Players - 3 -5 players, some mission "doable" with 2 and easy with 4 or more. Mission length: 1 - 2 hours Comments: Some missions have slots for up to 12 players, others only have slots for 8. Also, some missions have a secondary FARP either closer to the “front line” to facilitate re-spawn or rearming, while others have a secondary FARP further back incase primary gets overran. Some missions will require use of PVI-800 to enter NAV points. Most missions require landing and rearming. MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
Downey Jr. Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 This sounds great, I'd like to jump in as well if you guys don't mind...I'm still learning myself...I'm experienced with Falcon...not with helis and especially not with BS lol Were details posted with TS and reg schedule for peeps? I went directly to the last page here, my apologies if this was reiterated a million times. Downey out
manne Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Interesting! So most meetups are at 1pm GMT? Is it going to be upcoming saturday or sunday or both? I'll try to join in, I have been wanting to play co-op for many months now. In what location is the server hosted? USA or Europe? Any known problems with lag for people from Europe?

71st_Mastiff Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Bah, is this a flight sim forum or not? This "GMT" has to go - it's UTC dammit. :P sorry E some of us are old school.. JD_LincsUK Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Bah, is this a flight sim forum or not? This "GMT" has to go - it's UTC dammit. :P UTC is yet another pathetic attempt by Europeans to downplay the role the Mighty British Empire had in leading the wider world to wisdom. :chair: JD :drink:
Sabre-TLA Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Lets play them in order (the way the authors intended). I wish we had a dynamic mp campaign but it would be a challenge to keep the world persistent from match to match ;-) MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
Haril Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Just in case you're wondering if the rookie meetup is too pro for you, I've had a count up of the deaths from last week, and roughly 50% of them were caused by the pilot, mostly ring vortex. The rest were due to being too close to shilkas and Rusty aka Hijack caught a wireguided missile in the face on the third volley. My goal this weekend is to only get shot down by things with a guidance system that doesn't rely on wires.
Sabre-TLA Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Sorry I missed the Saturday meet - got tied up with other priorities unfortunately. Hope everyone had a swell time. MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
LIONPRIDE Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Sorry I missed the Saturday meet - got tied up with other priorities unfortunately. Hope everyone had a swell time. I'll be lurking here to see when you guys fly again and see if I cant connect. . - - - - - - - - TO FLY IS HEAVEN. TO HOVER IS DIVINE - - - - - - [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
