104th_Crunch Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Groove, you using Win 7? For some reason on my own particular setup, BFBC2 runs like crap and stutters in Win7. In WinXP however, it runs very good. All my other games, including other BF games, Blackshark etc run great in Win7. The only other exception is Lock On runs bad for me in Win 7 lol. If you have XP try running it in there. My System Core Duo 8600, 4GB Ram, GTX 280, Audigy 2ZS
Feuerfalke Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Of course. In Win7 BC2 uses many additional features from DX10/11, which are much more demanding than just the basic DX9 features. You can adapt settings with advanced options in DX11, though. At the moment EA still lacks the necessary servers to support the login and stats, but it's already improving. Another problem comes from Punkbuster. The current version sometimes does not install PunkbusterB correctly, resulting in a kick after 1min in the game. Deleting the PunkbusterB-Components and updating PB manually largely solved the problem for me. The game itself is very nice. IMHO they found a nice balance between infantry-fighting, armor and helos. ED Team Groove Posted March 5, 2010 ED Team Posted March 5, 2010 I didn't had any issues with Win7 and BC2 but since like two weeks i've got stutters in BC2 and in L4D2 and TF2. Strange issue, it came out of nothing. Anyway, i planed upgrading my PC already so i won't pursue this issue :) 2 Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
Feuerfalke Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Now, that's odd. Grimes Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 The game itself is very nice. IMHO they found a nice balance between infantry-fighting, armor and helos. Rush has turned out to be a ton of fun. I'm surprised how much variety they seem to have made between the different maps. I havn't really played much conquest yet. One map of it I played was kinda lame since the server was far from full and was completely linear, however the other map, Panama Canal I think, was much more interesting. As a whole I think the attack/defense nature of Rush lends itself much better to Battlefield gameplay. The fights are much more focused. And the need to have quality squad mates really shines. ED Team Groove Posted March 12, 2010 ED Team Posted March 12, 2010 Yesterday i had my best medic round so far (im playing medic only). ~10500 points after the round, with all the bonuses. I think i revived a whole army :D Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en

Feuerfalke Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 The medals give a lot of points. And of course Medic is still one of the most rewarding classes. Playing mostly as Engineer, though. Love the tanks and how they fall apart when taking hits. I also love the silenced guns. Great game. ATM servers are down - they are upgrading the stats-servers. Finally.... Grimes Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I find it kinda odd that the class that is responsible for healing and saving lives is the biggest BAMF for anti-infantry combat. Depending on the map I usually have a red-dot or 4x scope on most of my weapons, specifically useful upgrade to my character, and always vehicles alt weapons. Favorite weapons. Generally prefer the MP-443 pistol for sidearm. Assault: An-94. Each shot fires a burst. Its accurate, powerful, and the burst firing mode is easier on the ammo. Medic: M60 for its serious stopping power. Engineer: AKS. I just unlocked the UMP so I cant tell you how the compare. Recon Sniping: M95/Magnum. Both are great long range sniping weapons. Recon CQB: (Aka "Assault Sniper") SVU Snaiperskaya Short with 4x scope. Honorable mention: M-14 Mod 0. I usually use this with engineer whenever the combat area isn't really small. Havn't played TDM or Squad Rush yet. But after quite a few games of conquest I've come to the conclusion that its not quite as good as Rush is. Conquest is really hit and miss with the player selection, and matches seem to be very short. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Shaman Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 I bought the game but can't really find any good multiplayer game if even server browser is actually working. Honestly I am dissapointed and already half bored of it. When I got in, it was pure chaos compared to what I was used to from BF2/2142. I feel like I played it 1000x times already but now it is even more primitive. Hmm... I guess I will sell my copy soon together with BF2142. 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
TKMR Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 (edited) Assault: An-94. Each shot fires a burst. Its accurate, powerful, and the burst firing mode is easier on the ammo. Medic: M60 for its serious stopping power. The AN-94 is beautiful. I love it. I was really sad when i got the HK416 (NOT M416!!!) and it sucked. =( Also, have you gotten the MG3 for Medic yet? Leaps and bounds better than the M60. The firerate is incredible and the damage is amazing (should be same as M60 since it uses the same round, but I'm not sure). And it sounds amazing too. Just like an MG42. ;) If anyone who has the game wants to add me to their friends list feel free: tkmr I usually try to keep my squad working together (and just leave if there is a sniper. I hate snipers). That's one thing about the game that just pisses me off, is the sheer amount of snipers. I love it when I get a good squad though, we just blaze through the map and kick ass! =D I think rush is my favourite game mode atm. Squad rush is fun too, though not for point whores. ;) Edited March 15, 2010 by TKMR Lead Admin/Founder of Kilo-Tango Gaming Community

The server browser takes a long time to update , it doesnt seem to save any data from one game to the next so its got to update every time unlike the old battlefields....terrible idea. Anyways if your not having fun you need to hook up with some people and squad up. If you don't you will hate this game in a hurry...sorry you don't like it, just give it a bit more time. You are more than welcome to play with the guys I play wit and I or maybee some of the simheads here would be interested in making a DCS clan? The other thing is you really need some external kind of voice comms like teamspeak, ventrilo, skype etc to make it all come together, [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] System Specs Intel I7-3930K, Asrock EXTREME9, EVGA TITAN, Mushkin Chronos SSD, 16GB G.SKILL Ripjaws Z series 2133, TM Warthog and MFD's, Saitek Proflight Combat pedals, TrackIR 5 + TrackClip PRO, Windows 7 x64, 3-Asus VS2248H-P monitors, Thermaltake Level 10 GT, Obutto cockpit
Total Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I feel like I played it 1000x times already but now it is even more primitive. Hmm... Played it at a friends house. I have to agree with this statement. I guess it boils down to the fact that the shoebox shooter genre has been pushed about as far as it can go. Different titles, improvements in graphics, but the game play feels as though nothing has changed in the past 8 years except more in depth elements have been removed to accommodate the console platforms. Innovation has been traded off for eye candy and massive quick sales. Now, if a person is newer to the shoebox shooter scene (ie 2004 and later) then this will be a great title. For those of us who were there for the release of such titles as Starsiege: Tribes, the first Unreal (1998 ), Battlefield 1942, Tribes 2, America's Army 1.0, and so forth - then this game will wear thin quickly as it really has nothing new to offer other than alot of players and some bang up graphics.

Chibawang Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 While I agree that it isn't groundbreaking or anything, it's still alot of fun. I mean, what did you expect? My main complaint would be a lack of teamwork and communication on most servers. It would be great to get a squad together with people from these forums, we should trade info and get a game going! My handle is D Wheezy, feel free to add me.
ED Team Groove Posted March 16, 2010 ED Team Posted March 16, 2010 Grimes, do you use the Magnum ammo ? And if yes, do you "feel" a difference, eg: do you kill faster or more enemies? Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
Feuerfalke Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 (edited) Grimes, do you use the Magnum ammo ? And if yes, do you "feel" a difference, eg: do you kill faster or more enemies? I don't feel a difference with the Magnum ammo. At least not with my prefered Engineers MPs. I prefer the specialized silencer and go for the headshot, though it's a bit odd to run around with a UZI and a x4 scope attached. Grimes Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I tend to load it with the M60, im not sure if its effect is noticeable, but its certainly a powerful weapon.
