Protek Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Hi guys, I'm a complete noob so forgive me. I'm just starting Black Shark. I've got the game settings on "Game" mode but my Joystick is too sensitive for me to fly. i'm all over the place even though i move my Joystick a few millimetres. i've tried looking for Joystick sensitivity in control panel but no joy. can anyone help/advise? Thanks in Advance,
Frazer Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Hi Protek, welcome to the forum! First, what joystick do you have? Second, it is quite normal for unexperienced pilots to have difficulties controlling the Ka-50 in a smooth way. Over time, you will "develop" a more stable hand. Protek Posted February 11, 2010 Author Posted February 11, 2010 Hi Frazer, Thanks for your reply. I have a Microsoft Forcefeedback Sidewinder. I would say that i have quite a gentle hand at using my joystick but in "Black Shark" i'm all over the place.

Thanks in Advance, Navigate to SP GUI/Options/Controls/Axis Commands and Highlight the JoyY (Pitch) and/or JoyX (Roll) entry under your Flightstick Tab. Then hit 'Axis Tune' and set your Curvature value from the default Linear to reduce sensitivity. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? NOT if you want to keep FF trim with a MS FF stick you have to tick the bug fix 'swap axis' box in the FF setup do NOT change curvature with a FF stick, or you'll loose FF trim (do Not use 'centered trim' in options when using a FF stick) also if you Hover too soon or do a 'surface bump' and Roll Pitch Heading damp (3 of 4 blue lights on autopilot) are not ON or are Blinking, means you lost damping and you'll be all over the place proper damping (allignment) will start after 3minutes after an interruption (f.i. bump surface) and the signal for allignment is the proper SPEED readout in the top left of the HUD | VR goggles | Autopilot panel | Headtracker | TM HOTAS | G920 HOTAS | MS FFB 2 | Throttle Quadrants | 8600K | GTX 1080 | 64GB RAM| Win 10 x64 | Voicerecognition | 50" UHD TV monitor | 40" 1080p TV monitor | 2x 24" 1080p side monitors | 24" 1080p touchscreen |
Protek Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 Ok, i've been trying to alter the options for my joystick but i'm findig the Helicopter is still eratic. in the options i have Deadzone (I believe that is for "no action") Saturation X & then Saturation Y and then Curvature. Can you tell me what "Saturation" means please? and also Curvature? I've been trying to alter them at different settings but i'm getting irratic Heli Movements. Thanks guys, really appreciate your advice.

Protek Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 Hi Maja, yes, i swapped the Axes. To be honest, i don't understand all the options. FF Tune Trimmer force =100 then Shake=50 then there's Slider, Invert and user curve! I'm at a total loss of what to do!

FF: trimmer: set to your pref (trim position force) shake: set to your pref (shaking) MS Sidewinder: swap axis slider: 0-100 (trottle) not slider (around a center): -50-0-50 (pitch roll rudder) invert: ~ obvious (for when you want your throttle inverted) curvature: make an S slope (NOT when FF) user curve: make a stepped S slope (not when FF) curve <> NOT for FF Pitch Roll (trim will be BAD) DCS BS pretty much should feel your stick and set allready to proper default (not FF) again: Enter - RCtrl <> Show controls indicator so you see what you're doiing apart from a GunFire and MissileRelease, you Must define a Trimmer button on the top of your MSFF, you'll use this every so many seconds! with Enter - RCtrl <> Show controls indicator you'll see what it does (and you'll get used to it) button 1 Gun button 2 Missile button 3 Trim button 4 Hover (ONLY use when HUD displays groundspeed topleft <> INS Nav is ready <> 3min warmup <>or your hover will be (*&&^%&) Edited February 12, 2010 by majapahit | VR goggles | Autopilot panel | Headtracker | TM HOTAS | G920 HOTAS | MS FFB 2 | Throttle Quadrants | 8600K | GTX 1080 | 64GB RAM| Win 10 x64 | Voicerecognition | 50" UHD TV monitor | 40" 1080p TV monitor | 2x 24" 1080p side monitors | 24" 1080p touchscreen |
TenBlade Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I´m still a bit new to BS, but with my Thrustmaster Cougar I find curving to 50 makes it more flyable. Try that, save and name your profile accordingly. Will experiment with even bigger curves, I still get see-saw motion frequently, think it´s too much input. Gigabyte X58A-UD5, i7 950 @ 3.96 GHz w. Protek Posted February 13, 2010 Author Posted February 13, 2010 I'm not really interested in using "Force Feedback". I don't have the power supply connected. Will that make a difference?

Will that make a difference? there's no centering then, and you'll have to steer (or carefully not touch) all the time it's rather tiring or rather unrealistic | VR goggles | Autopilot panel | Headtracker | TM HOTAS | G920 HOTAS | MS FFB 2 | Throttle Quadrants | 8600K | GTX 1080 | 64GB RAM| Win 10 x64 | Voicerecognition | 50" UHD TV monitor | 40" 1080p TV monitor | 2x 24" 1080p side monitors | 24" 1080p touchscreen |
Protek Posted February 14, 2010 Author Posted February 14, 2010 Thanks Maja, i've sorted it. One thing i'd like to say is that, when taking over the Helicopters controls during Training it will always be in Realisitc mode & not in the user selected Mode. Again, thanks for your help guys. Looking forward to getting my new Radeon HD5970 Graphics Card. :D
Sabre-TLA Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 I always fly with the autopilot buttons enabled. They call them autopilot buttons but really they are control dampers which make it easier to fly. MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
