chuck_555 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 HI I've searched and searched but I haven't found anything that comes close. I had to take this photo on my camera as my system freezes and I have to do a manual reboot. This occurs within 3 sec of starting the game about 60-70% of the time. I don't know how to locate or compile an error "log" as I don't have computer smarts. I have Version 1.0.1c, I have reloaded the game twice and it seems to only happen when the updates installed, but I would like to keep them if I can. I have downloaded all the current drivers for all my hardware. I've even played around with the resolution on the desktop... Can someone please help:helpsmilie: My System Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz 2.67GHz RAM 4.00 GB Vista 64-bit NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT Realtek High Definition Audio

Sabre-TLA Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I'd try completely powering off your system and then powering up again to refresh the vid card memory. Then I'd reinstall drivers or get the latest ones and try those. MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
GuntiNDDS Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Could be a memmory problem aswell. If reinstalling the newest drivers doesnt work, try testing your ram with memtest86.
Boberro Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Wow you have real time Picasso :D I bet memory\drivers and GPU... Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
EtherealN Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Try the driver route, but it would be helpful to have a DxDiag output file to look at to see if there's something strange happening in the system (they give a good, almost complete, overview of the driver/hardware combination). Directions on how to do that, if you are unfamiliar, is available in the thread "Troubleshooting - Help us Help you" here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=44466 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
funkee Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Wow you have real time Picasso :D LOL :D Check your GPU temperature while playing DCS. You can do it with EVGA Precision. Make sure your GPU core and/or RAM ain't overclocked. You may also check the monitor cable (if it's well plugged in). Napa Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Reinstall your GPU drivers. First clean all Nvidia drivers with DriverSweeper (can find that for free from Guru3d) and then make a clean install with the latest drivers. I didn't have this problem with DCS but had it sometimes with other games (Mirrors edge and crysis). I have a GTX295 and used the 182.50 drivers. Every time I installed a newest driver the system crashed. So I used this neat software from Guru3d to clean all nvidia and PhysX drivers. Now I use the latest drivers from nvidia and have no glitching problems at all.
