Windows 7 x64 - task bar

I'm getting this annoying bug on my Windows 7 x64 O/S. System taskbar covers DCS menu which is badly fit to the screen, so I can't press bottom menu buttons. I've tried different aspect and resolutions, full screen option, even reinstalling, but still unable to fix that sh... Fortunatelly it happens in singleplayer only.

Does anyone experience the same problem?

that looks to me like fullscreen option is not checked. Are you sure it's checked?

Perhaps the "automatic hide" option in properties is not checked?

Taksbar autohide option is not checked, and taskbar is also blocked (but in opposite case the problem still extits). :( Does anybody running Win7 x64 have the same problem?

I'm running win7-64, but i do not have that problem.

It seems that the mouse is giving some kind of impulse during starting BS.

Do you have this problem also if you put the taskbar to one side?

If so, it might be a mouse driver problem or a mouse command within the game. Perhaps you see something strange in optons-controls-axis commands.

I have 6 mouse axis binded to only cammera movements.

Yes funkee, I too have the same screen.But only on the debreif screen.No other.

Same here. So I think this is a game related problem not a problem with my comp. Would be nice to fix that in upcoming patch...

I agree this only happens in my case when I am prompted to fly again etc...and in that case the buttons to cancel or fly again, record track etc...are partially obscured by the windows 7 task bar.

I've had this issue myself recently, to be honest I suspect it's a graphics driver related issue as it doesn't happen all the time. When it does happen it's always when I've flown at least one mission and it disappears if I do a restart.

 

Never really botherd me all that much as I don't regularly fly more than one mission at once and I don't fly that much singleplayer either.

 

However if anyone finds a solution it would be useful.

I have that problem during sp debriefing. I highly doubt it is a driver problem. DCS.exe and the menu run on different executables. I think the problem is simply that the OS tasking is not being properly switched so that the menu remains as a background application rather than a foreground app. When it happens to me, if I click elsewhere on the screen it becomes the foreground app and the taskbar goes away.

In my case every time I launch the game (under Windows7), only in menu (not in game), and it never disappears.

I'm having the same behavior except clicking on the Black Shark program area Windows 7 decides to fight it and makes it a background application again. There's also two entries on my task bar related to Black Shark, "Black Shark with a green helicopter icon" and "Black Shark 1.0.2 with a generic icon."

Problem solved.

 

Right click on DCS shortcut, properties, compatibility, check the box "disable desktop composition", and press OK:

I do have Lock The TaskBar checked though and Aero enabled.

I had that problem exactly with both BS and FC

It is important to get max resolution on the menus so that you can see and use the lower buttons It has nothing to do with the Win7 task bar. I finally solved the problem by loading FSX at max resolution and I run the first FSX menu in the background (minimise it). Of course altermmatively you can operante the OK and Cancel buttons that you cannot see with the ENTER and the ESCAPE keys. However I have no idea what the appropriate key is for the EDIT button. Good luck.

Ignore my last message. I have tried disabling the desktop theme as well as checking the compatability box and it works for me on both BS and FC. Why did noone suggest this to me!!!!!

Same here. At least it not longer appears at start and we are able to hide it after clicking somewhere in menu.

Hmmm, I don't get the taskbar when firing up the sim and reaching the MENU, only after coming out of the sim when finishing flying... when the debrief screen comes up.

 

 

I have the taskbar locked in its properties selection with Aero enabled, sim and desktop at the same resolution... what is everybody elses' settings? (If I might ask)
