I'm playing 1.1 on my laptop which has a widescreen..err.. screen :)

At the moment I have the choice of playing windowed or having the display distorted as it stretches, neither of which is great. Are there any plans (or any tricks) that would allow either

1. Playing in fullscreen mode with "Filler" bars down either side to prevent distortion

or (preferred)

2. Adding widescreen graphics modes up to 1920x1200 for widescreen equipped people?

Cheers

edit simulation resolution in graphics.cfg. you can specify any resolution and aspect ratio. I play 1280x720 aspect 1.77 and it looks awesome on my 50'' TV :)

Also if you set desktop resolution to same as game, you can run in windowed mode and it will appear as full screen while improving FPS a little.

When all else fails, Eject then read the manual.

Oh, and a good wingman helps.

I recently bought a 24" LCD that runs 1920x1200, which is 1.6. I set the graphics.cfg file to do this, but one annoyance I've found is that LockOn seems to periodically reset the aspect ratio to the default 1.33333373, requiring me to reset it to 1.6.

This may only happen the first few runs of the game though, as I noticed it when installing but haven't had to do it the last few times I've flown.

The ratio will be reseted whenever you change any option in the game.

I hope it will be fixed in a future patch or addon.

That means, this value >> ( 4:3 ) has to be picked from a source in order to be overwritten or rested.

Now the question : ...where does lockon get the "standart values" from, if you change anything in settings and hit OK. ?

I would love to eliminate this uggly enoying source  (using 1920x1080 1.77 here.. and its really enoying "NOT to touch settings")

Kuky found a great solution to this problem. Check this post.

And TekaTeka is right. Your every enter to the options screen and pressing OK (applying changes - even if not made) reset to 'supported screens' which are wrong for widescreens.

You can also use LOCfg tool where You can all options 'click' instead of editing file (You can choose better option to You ;-))

awesome..lol..i have all that..but i forgot to use change.com

EDIT: that does not work...its easy to tell lockon to StART in right ratio...but the problem is...once in game...and you change "anything" in settings....bang

back to 1.3333 ratio.... HOW you can workaround this?

(lol..you give me answers..not understanding what i m asking for..and i even reply not seeing first that you havent understood....yaay)

Is there a way to fix that "reset back to 1.33 ratio - bug" in widescreen-mode once "touching" the settings?

Yes or NO?

Unfortunately even if using *.bat file with change.com Your every enter to Options ends with changins to 1.333.

Solution is simple but not exactly wanted:

1. Start LockOn (any way)

2. Change Options

3. Exit game

4. Start LockOn (with *.bat file)

More changes with settings = more such gamestarts

No changing settings = smooth starting game ;-)
