How are you getting parallax? The camera veiw comes from a single point. Like a cammera lens. So this should not be happening unless you are wearing 3D glasses, maybe?

By moving the head, possibly?

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

I'm also curious about what he means by parallax effect. Parallax is (at the most basic) just an effect of perspective, or rather, a change of perspective.

When you move (rotate horizontal or vertical) the head, you can see a slow displacement on the cockpit instruments, like the Cyclic. You can see a movement on the back panel instruments (Master Arm in this case).

More or less...

I want no lateral movement in the rotations of the natural head.

Only 1 eye on 1 point of the 3d space, that rotates in vertical/horizontal, over that point.

I think I get it - when you turn your head (not moving sideways, but rotating head), the axis of rotation is the neck, not the eye, wherefore there will be a change in perspective. What I believe is requested here is basically to have the eye be the axis of rotation - you can think of it like instead of having your neck stationary when looking around, you move the neck and back to make the eyes be stationary.

That about it, trujillostm?

I don't know if this is possible because I've never thought of a reason why one would want this, though... The head movement stuff is linked to the TrackIR requirements.

That's not a nodal point, that's a pivot point.

But anyway, I'm pretty sure it can't be set in the game...for your sake, I hope someone proves me wrong. :)

Good question, though.

the only thing i could suggest would be to ue trackir and disable 6dof - enable only the pitch and yaw control (no X Y or Roll)

I personally use the X and Y capabilities a helluva bunch to scan for tgts /threats out of my windows.

I want to create a 360 Panorama of the cockpit...

I need the screenshots to join perfectly.

Do you understand me?

LOL. Now I understand what you are wanting to do. There should be a way to do this by using the many camera view controls. There are lots of people that can help you with that.

It seems to me you could start the game without trackir, and use the mouse to look around. That should do just what you need. The camera moves around from one spot in the cockpit...

There is a configuration in one of the files that defines the distance from the eyes to the head pivotal point. I used it. Unluckily I'm thousands of miles away from my PC, but I promise I will get back to you in a couple of days with your info.

A little off topic but you guys might be able to help. Could some one point me in the direction of a Lua file that would help me increase the maximum zoom out allowed ? And would this be considered an exploit or cheat if used online. I want to get a little closer to the field of view a pilot would have.

just to let you know it would cause you to CTD to over set this FOV beyonds it's means.

Ok back home.

So what you wanna do is go to "[bS Root directory]\Config\View\" and open the file "Server.lua" using Notepad++ (do not use Windows Notepad or Wordpad, they´ll make your hair fall down and won´t stop there)

In Server.lua, go to line 43, there you´ll see:

EyePoint[PlaneIndex.iKA_50] = {0.09, 0, 0}

Change the 0.09 to 0 and your eyes will be directly over your neck. It will not help with girls but then again we´re simmers.

Also if your objetive is to make a 360º "collage", make sure to be zoomed in enough to avoid the fisheye lens effect that appears when zoomed out more than a 1:1 scale. This is about having the HUD filling 3/4 of your screen, depending on screen size.

Best of lucks, let me know if I wasn´t clear on anything.
