Alright guys (and gals!), the site is up and running. No lessons available yet, but some reading can be done, it will explain how the LET lessons will work, how they are built, how you can purchase it, etc. There are some other cool features also, and the forum is available.

Here's the address:

http://LeadingEdgeTraining.us

And don't forget to scroll down on the frontpage, it seems it's easy to get caught up on the screenshots... :).

Thanks for everyone's patience, this is a major milestone on our way to providing the best DCS training available anywhere!

Hi Conuk,

Surely! If you click on the link in the "How it all works" article on the right side of the main page you are taken here.

Also, there's another story on the front page titled "The Different Training Series" which will show you the lessons we have planned.

Thanks!

It says each video is $1. I have never heard of these guys have they done this before with other games. I guess $1 just to try them out is not too bad though.

I need, I need, I need... What about my wants? QuickSilver original.

"Off with his job" Mr Burns on the Simpsons.

"I've seen steering wheels / arcade sticks / flight sticks for over a hundred dollars; why be surprised at a 150 dollar item that includes the complexities of this controller?! It has BLINKY LIGHTS!!" author unknown.

These titles are listed in the chronological order I purchased them.

Hi ZQuickSilverZ,

We have not done this for other games, but check out the About Us section, you'll find some links to the free Ka-50 startup video we created.

Hi july865,

Thanks for the words about the design, and for alerting me about the spam. It has been removed, but I continue to have a really bad time with spammers, I am working to minimize that.

just curious - i applaud their efforts as i believe they will have much to offer in terms of improving gameplay experience for all ED customers.

How, though, are they able to charge a fee and profit off of the ED product? Typically developers put a quick stamp down on anyone (albeit usually modders) whom build a business model off of their (the developers)branding.

I hope they can keep this going and I certainly will support them if they can - i am simply curious on the business arrangement (if any) with ED.

** Never mind ** i read more on Fabio's site and sincerely applaud Mr. Miguez for dedicating both his and his team's time to working with ED on this project. Great to see and I wish him the best of success. I hope to see more of this independant training in other sims as well.

Question: Have you thought about video download in itunes for iPOD users to take training on the road with us?

Thanks dooom, it's truly great to see the support of the whole community and the makers of DCS!!!

Not only thought about it, but it will be one of the available media for each lesson. In this day and age, we'd be neglecting technology if we didn't do that, but hey, thanks for the thought, keep the questions and suggestions coming.

Miguez,

I am the 104thPhoenix DCS Black Shark Training Academy Author and FI for the 104th. Several of our members were on the Beta Team too.

I just wanted to add my 2c worth with regards to LET and the end product.

I think that the quality of instruction is first class as is the medium in which you choose to teach it. I am a Soldier in the British Army and have been for 23 years, i appreciate a good quality lesson that has depth and utilises different senses and parts of the brain to learn. Thank you for your impending product.

I assure you that i will endorse the LET program and will drive our Kadets (currently 18 full time) that are engaged in the 104th's program, to expand their knowledge as either a pre-requisite to our own or indeed augmentation.

Once again, many thanks.

Updated the forum software, newer version has a feature that allows the registration page to ask a question. If you don't type the right answer, you cannot register. The question I ask is "What is the name of the Russian company that manufactures the Black Shark?".

Hopefully this is easy enough for all you guys to figure out, but hard enough that it will keep bots and even human spammers out. It's unfortunate that we have to go to these lengths in the battle against spam, but it was a battle I was losing.

So, let's see if this will be able to keep the forums clean from now on. Thanks everyone for the feedback so far.

I think he means who is the manufacturer of the REAL helicopter, aka Kamov

Hi coke23,

Actually, the manufacturer of the Black Shark, the real helicopter, is Kamov :music_whistling:, and that's what I had meant. I can see how this may be confusing, I have now changed it to this question:

"What is the name of the Russian company that makes the Black Shark simulator?" and the answer will be eagle dynamics, capitalization not important (works either way).

Thanks again for the feedback!
