I paid for the english version, was sent to the download site which has 3 downloads on it, I take it I am supposed to download all 3 (???) which I saved to my desktop then went to run the exe and it said this: C:\users\john\desktop\FC2.0\setup.exe. is not a valid WIN32 application how EXACTLY do we install FC2.0, I have installed on my computer the original Lockon, then Flaming Cliffs 1.12b

"nnn is not a valid WIN32 application" is a classic "corrupt file" problem. It could be: - Corrupt download - redownload yet again to solve it. - Security software, messing with the downloads - less likely to be this problem. - Disk-volume minor problem, run CHKDKS C: /F and for D: or whereever you have files. You could also use another computer to download and transfer it with a USB. That way you will know if it's your own computer causing the grief - or the line/ISP you are using. Wilde Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 The download page names the MD5 checksums. Get yourself a tool to verify checksums. There should be plenty around the web. Compare checksums and you'll see which one is corrupt. edit: and if redownload doesn't solve the issue of corrupt files try another mirror.

It will call all the data needed from the two bin files, which should be in the same folder as the setup.exe. That's all. My firewall is off and has been the entire time, I am downloadiing the bit torrent to see if this works, seems odd though that the 6 from the site would be corrupt only after they were shortly put up on the site? I am not sure how exe's operate but I found that to be strange. I have patience so no big deal, but, just want to straighten things out the right way you know, thanks all. Have you downloaded all three setup files? Setup.exe Setup-1.bin Setup-2.bin And put them in the same folder before running setup.exe? Zorrin Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Did you try putting them in a folder that ISN'T on your desktop. You said you'd downloaded the files there, try putting them in your documents folder or something and just name? Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Downloading setup.exe alone over and over won't get you anywhere. I'm currently testing my own uploads by downloading and unpacking them just like everyone else will. Repetition is not very good tactic in troubleshooting. What I'm interested in is your actions after every "again". I told you to redownload everything, not just setup.exe and I don't know if you did. I also told you to check control sums first if you don't want to redownload everything. I did download the quickihash application as well and placed the setup exe in there, but, I have no clue what it is that I am looking at with that and what it all means. My actions are the same, I mean how many other ways can there be to help the situation? mate I have tried honestly everything I think I am supposed to do. Sabre-TLA Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Check that setup is actually called setup.exe I had another file in my downloads folder called setup so when I downloaded the FC 2.0 setup it got changed to setup(2).exe When I ran it as setup(2).exe it tried to find Setup(2)-1.bin so I renamed setup(2).exe to setup.exe and then it worked fine.
