That was my favourite ever sim. Not just because I'm a Tonka fan.

As we can see, the Tornado lives on in Simulation history and love of us, the sim buying public.

If ED don't tackle twin seaters soon, then you can be sure someone else will ... ED have a monopoly on military jet sims now, but that could change in the future ... They should be looking to build on the complexity of the series IMHO, and not resting on laurels ... even if it is an American two seater jet.

But I'd still like it to be a Tonka ... multi national, multi role for a multi national user base.

Cheers.

How difficult was a JP233 attack on a runway... I used to get my ass handed to me more times than not.

Turned out to be a bit tricky in real life of course when employed in 1991!

Yes. It certainly drummed into you that low-level was all well and good, up until you zoomed into a SHORAD environment. It was always easier a bit later in the campaign when you could go in at high altitude.

plus the deployment of the Buccaneers...

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

How about that manual hey... what a work of literature. Only Flight of the Intruder came close for me.

I've never felt so tense as running up at under 100ft using the TFR to a well defended base at night in the Tornado sim.

Dual seat was a doddle too in terms of single player workload, they got the balance just right.

One of my top five favorite sims of all time.

Too bad the various flight manuals are not available.

I still have most of them, including good old Falcon manuals (some interesting names in the credits ;) ), Gunship, Aces over Europe and Aces of the Pacific. I also have HIND and APACHE from D.I.'s Hind from 95.

Good old times, when games came with printed manuals in a large and heavy box.

does a virtual tornado module for dcs depends on the availability of the original manuals?

it whould be awsome to get this 2seater into the sim..

same for the F-14..which had been active in those times, too.

maybee there is a chance to get original manuals from the manufactour? or british military!)

I spent many happy hours in DI's Tornado and its Desert Storm expansion, fantastic sim and great manual. The graphics may not look great but using the terrain following computer system to hug the hill tops was a real buzz. One of my favourite aircraft for its multi-role capability. If ED said they were considering it I'd be happy to pay the full retail price up front and then pay the same amount on delivery to get this aircraft in a modern simulation. I think ED are the only company that could do it justice.

Talking about the real aircraft flight TO manuals.

I think Wags is letting us down gently, its not going to be a DCS Tornado sim because of this?

But what about that wonderful stuff from the early Hard Core era, as in DI's Tornado? It was Hardcore ... did they have access to Panavia Tornado's capability's ... Nope, did it stop DI, 15 years ago making the ultimate mud mover sim ... No.

Most of it was guesswork, but near as dammit guesswork And that worked splendidly.

I mean ... who's Counting?

ED could make a killer Tornado sim, but they wont, they know where the bread is buttered and we know what to expect.

But Hey ... lets get that Warthog sim released first.

Cheers.

Ah, sorry, missed that.

Just looked at the title and flew over a few pages.

Well, I guess the key element in this regard is: officially available ;)
