nsc Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Hi, I'm installing LockOn FC on my new computer using Windows 7 Ultimate X64. Everything was fine untill starforce installation ! When i launch FC, Starforce askme to reboot system to complete, and when i reboot....System files corrupted, system unable to boot !! Win7 Fix by itselft the problem and finally can boot, but starforce is not installed : sfsync02.sys is corrupted ! I have tried to launch the starforce updater (downloaded on the website) but it says that "nothing to update" because starforce silly protection is not installed ! So please Helpdesk, can you solve my problem ? Regards,

TheDoctor Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I had the same problem, I'll try the "dutch solution" and report on results.
nsc Posted April 12, 2010 Author Posted April 12, 2010 Read me again please.... I already read before the wiki about installing or try to install lastest Starforce drivers, but it doesn't work ! 1st - After "rebooting" to complete starforce install driver, Win7 failed to boot and enter in recovery mode to repair sfsun02.sys (corrupted). That means Starforce is not installed 2nd- if Starforce not installed, i cannot "update" to the last driver version, because "nothing to update". :/
Distiler Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 The strange thing here is the need to reboot after installing FC. I didn't reboot, even when asked, before update starforce versión. In fact I've read if you reboot, problems arise. Try to uninstall all, and reinstall outside /program files and run setup.exe as an administrator (right click on it, etc.) AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2

Thx, Do not reboot after you install FC. Try to run the game. You should get the incompatible message. When you do, Install the SFUPDATE.
nsc Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 It's just what i did ;) After sfupdate, it asks me to reboot, i do, and when, reboot, W7 explains me that Starforce driver is not compatible and is disabled. Also i have try to launch again flaming cliff but star force message appears and ask me to reboot (as if it's not installed) !
nsc Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 (edited) when i run sfupdate now, it says that i have last version (Feb 3 2009) (but i still cannot launch flaming cliff) Edited April 14, 2010 by nsc
Sarge55 Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I don't have W7 but that sounds similar to a Vista UAC issue. Does W7 have something like that which needs disabling? Second thought is, did you use the correct version of FC 1.12 update? Wolf Rider Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Forgive my ignorance, but does the SF driver reside in Control Panel/ Device Manager/ View Hidden/ By Connection? If it does, try updating the the driver through the Update Driver/ Manual Search Some Root Port drivers don't update properly in Windows 7 and have to be updated in this manner City Hall is easier to fight, than a boys' club - an observation :P "Resort is had to ridicule only when reason is against us." - Jefferson "Give a group of potheads a bunch of weed and nothing to smoke out of, and they'll quickly turn into engineers... its simply amazing."
