If thats what our maps were set up with. It kind of seems that way, but then wouldn't our enemies have are positions. Doesn't matter we were on a freq. hop radio. But I was issued maps as well as everyone else and as you know a 9 digit cord. is more accurate than a 6 digit...

9?

6-digit is 100-meter precision.

8-digit is 10-meter precision.

10-digit is 1-meter precision.

There is no 9.

I would like to see some sort of comms with the troops on the ground. I know when I was in the Service- on an M1A1- we had comms with Apaches and A-10s.

I would personally give 6-9 digit cord. to exactly where the bad guys were, that is if we couldn't laze and blaze them. And the A-10s were close enough to see a thumbs up from them..................awesome.

I agree. I was actually a bit disappointed with the infantry model in this game. I know helicopters aren't all about getting called in to support the infantry, but as a former infantryman myself I have a bit of a soft spot for 'em. Hopefully we'll have some better infantry fighters in A-10. It'd be pretty cool to get called into a grid, have the infantry pop smoke and tell you the enemy's north of that smoke. Lasers too so they can't laze a big 'ol bunker at night for you to drop a JDAM on or something. We did get some CAS with BlackShark, but I still felt like it could have been a bit more involved.

I guess specifics are in order though so if it's possible I'd like to see:

The ability to have less accurate units for longer firefights

See infantry move out of the open and into the wood line if engaged and outnumbered

Fighting positions

Ability to have guys laze targets (I know smoke is already in game)

Infantry goes prone

Machine gunner units (put more rounds downrange, make the firefights look more 'alive')

Don't know how possible it would be but dynamic mount/dismount. This is a bit of a stretch I think but it could be fun.

Units that try to run (all of them). Have them hide in cities, have them fish bone and return fire, etc. Right not units just kinda rumble along waiting to get shot.

Have units fire at different targets, it seems like they all concentrate on the same one.

In general give the infantry more life. Right now they just walk until they take a knee and die.

Also in general have units react to fire. If not dynamic then make a "under fire" header where we can put in way points. That way if the line starts getting hit we can have units pull back and such. Just a few things I'd like to see to make the ground seem more 'alive'. The sim itself (DCS:BS, wish I had A-10 lol) is absolutely the most fantastic thing on my computer now (RoF in close second), but it seems like a little work on the targets could go a long way.

I like this plan better.

Me too. We already have the A10 flyble and the upgraded one won't improve FC2 battlefield too much. I think we need some air opponent for Ka50 and AH60 would fit perfectly.

My thoughts exactly. But I do realize that the A-10 in DCS is going to be a lot different then the A-10 in FC2-as far as the cockpit immersion and procedures. Dont get me wrong, I'm still excited about the A-10 aswell...:pilotfly:

Sure, but it's still the same aircraft. We need some fresh meat for our hungry sharks.

F-111, what little I know of that aircraft, sounds like it would be tremendously entertaining.

This is the thing, a truly dynamic campaign doesn't have a 'next mission.'

^ Such an awesome quote.

Aside from wanting an A-10c, instead of the Apache I'd rather see a Cobra! :pilotfly: :)

I don't think the Cobra would be able to match up against the BS. The Cobra's fire control systems are kind of out dated I believe. Thats why the Apache was born.

And i don't think putting a F-111 in this sim would be realistic. Its a totally different platform.

Hey dudes,

what about a CH-53 Super Stallion, like this one: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ec/CH-53_Super_Stallion.jpg

seems to be fun with an implented Infantrysystem....:D

Diffently would be good for recovering down pilots.

If this helo was introduced into DCS for rescue and recovery missions it would totally make this sim the sim of all sims.

Maybe a SuperCobra or SeaCobra then?

Nate

Before I joined the Army I actually joined the Navy- and was going to be going to school to become a Sea Apache pilot. At that time there was no Sea Apache, but they were planning on putting them on battleships or Cruisers I think. At anyrate- I joined the Army instead.

Same, I can't wait. I loved the A-10 when I was a kid and with that HOTAS coming out for the sim this should be the closest I'll ever get to flying one. I'm very excited.

I'm really, really interested in how ED handles 2-seater aircraft for both multiplayer human-human and singleplayer human-AI control. That's going to be something.

I couldn't agree more with your idea. It would be awesome to play with second seater aircraft, but hopefully we can do it with AI and human player.
