33 309th_Hedgehog Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Hi, Does anybody have a working link to an A-10A Flight Manual at Hand? Thanks Hedgehog [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog :: Saitek Rudder :: Track IR5 :: EVGA 3 GB GTX580 :: AMD FX-8120 :: SSD 240 GB :: Win7 Ultimate 64
Bwaze Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 They are easy to find. I also managed to get the version with all the suplements which is much rarer (150 additional pages of graphs and charts, 330 MB long). Will post links as soon as I come home, typing on a phone right now.
33 309th_Hedgehog Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 Didn't find IT "easy"... Anyway, I thought it would be good to have a Link here in the forums. i think may of us will search for the Manual at the moment. Your extended version would be highly welcome! Bwaze Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Even if there is unclassified flight manual I suspect it would be still unobtainable. And illegal to own. :-) There are various levels of security regarding military manuals.

Bwaze Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 A-10A Flight Manual and other documents Several documents I could find on A-10 (mostly A model). First one I found on Narod.ru website, I have reshared it since link barely works. Others are freely available on various websites. A-10A Flight Manual and performance data (TO 1A-10A-1 and TO 1A-10A-1-1). Large file (330 MB) A/OA-10--AIRCREW TRAINING, AIR FORCE INSTRUCTION 11-2A/OA-10, VOLUME 1 A/OA-10--AIRCREW EVALUATION CRITERIA, AIR FORCE INSTRUCTION 11-2A/OA-10, VOLUME 2 A/OA-10--OPERATIONS PROCEDURES, AIR FORCE INSTRUCTION 11-2A/OA-10, VOLUME 3 AIR OPERATIONS RULES AND PROCEDURES, AIR FORCE INSTRUCTION 11-214 Joint Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures for Close Air Support (CAS), JP 3-09.3 A-10A Guide For LOMAC, Strike Fighters: Project 1, Wings Over Europe A-10s over Kosovo (complete e-book) Enjoy. 5
GGTharos Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 -34's for current aircraft (and often any recently retired aircraft) tend to be classified. Even then a -34 is an overview and you won't get the complete picture without even MORE classified inserts/appendices etc. Is dash 34 manual for A-10A available? Regards!! GGTharos Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Nice. Incidentally this is the file you want to get famialir with the A-10. Almost everything that is written in there is true for the C. Performance charts in particular, since it is the same airframe with the same engines. The payload charts are no longer entirely valid, but they give you an idea on maneuver limitations based on how you load out your plane ( ... see, there's a good reason why you don't normally haul 3 AGM-65s) Several documents I could find on A-10 (mostly A model). Bwaze Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) This is the page I found the extended A-10A manual, if for some reason you don't like Megaupload: http://narod.ru/disk/22090157000/A-10A%20Flight%20Manual.pdf.html It's in Russian, you have to type in the numbers above the "Показать другие цифры" box and press Скачать (download). New page opens and if download doesn't start automatically click the http: //narod.ru/disk/********/A-10A Flight Manual.pdf.html link. It worked fine once I got to that stage, but I had some problems to get there. I will not upload again, my upload speed really sucks (waited more that 2 hours yesterday). amalahama Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 -34's for current aircraft (and often any recently retired aircraft) tend to be classified. Even then a -34 is an overview and you won't get the complete picture without even MORE classified inserts/appendices etc. All dash -34 manuals I have seen seem very complete, at least for the average aircraft freak :D It's true that they usually have export control ban, but don't seem they're classified stuff (for this reason the dash -34-1 classified append exists ;) ). It's quite easy to find out dash 34 manuals of F-16C, F-4 or F-5E Regards!!
Bwaze Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Anyone interested in searchable or printable A-10A manual? I adjusted levels and cleaned it up, and I'm planning to OCR it (for copying and searching). And maybe I'll make an index too, at least for major chapters. 1
33 309th_Hedgehog Posted July 8, 2010 Author Posted July 8, 2010 Anyone interested in ... Who do you think would say no. Especially at the moment where we meet here at a forum for a nonexistent simulator. ;-) YES. DEFINITELY YES. That would be great!
