Just picked up Lock On PLatinum from Best Buy. Now I just have to figure out all the different aircraft, and maybe figure out and start to dabble in some multiplayer action. Hopefully this will hold me over until DCS: A-10C makes it's appearance!

So... What's the point ? :)

Welcome! Try out the in-game training or the ones on the eagledcs youtube page (Those are the official ones)

You will eventually want to checkout http://www.flankertraining.com/ironhand. These are some excellent tutorials.

I have also been making some tutorials to help people out. While they're not nearly as good as Ironhand's, some have found them somewhat helpful, and you may too. Here's my youtube page where you can find them.

Many of these tutorials were made in FC1.12, but can still be applied to 2.0.

Again, welcome to the world of Lockon!

Aero

DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

Couldn't resist... :D

Welcome to the community, and congratulations on an excellent purchase! As Aeroscout already pointed out the best places to go for tutorials are Ironhand's site and also the tutorials ED has on their site and on YouTube, they are invaluable training resources. Also don't hesitate to search the ED forums for any questions you have first to see if they've been answered before and if not, there are plenty of people here who are always willing to help out. See you in the skies!

Lol@ Bob! Talk about being shot down four times in a single pass! rofl.

Rip, luckybob, rattler and Blaze; That's a quarter of a kill each, mmmk?;)

Time to offer a fresh FC2 pilot a hearty endorsement :)

Might I suggest you find an a/c that you like and focus on that for a wee bit. I cut my teeth on the KA-50 and still find I enjoy being a ground pounder (A10). It's the only one so far I have taken time to understand to some degree.

A hell of a lot easier than trying to remember the full list of a/c and their functions .

I am in your boat I am completely new at this game. Just got my 1st 30mm kill. Then somehow my Flight stick got unplugged and plunged straight to the ground.

hmmm... did the log say anything about it? Or are you sure it was 100% stick unplug? You could be just thinking the stick stopped and maybe it was damage to the control surfaces, in game.

True...I took a Strela up the tail and didn't realize I was worm food until it was too late.

It's a metaphor, Bob.

Pretty much every post till mine is a valid counter to yours, hence your post being "shot down".

That oddly reminds me when I had just bought lock on and I was flying with a cheapie $5 stick. It had two buttons on it, but zomg it had a throttle!

So, I got myself into a BFM session with a Su-27 (me in F-15) and we ended up in a close enough fight to prevent use of missiles. As we were fighting, my stick snapped right off the base (hard fight, you know?!). After clearing the WTF flag from my mind (not to mention my face), I put the base back down and pressing the thing down as hard as I could, I eventually got that gun kill. :P

Come now. Don't be so modest about it. I bet the reality is that you did it with a keyboard.... using a popsicle stick in your mouth. :smartass:
