manne Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) I've been trying the Courier mission again lately, and everytime when I'm waiting at the UAZ to receive the package my Rotor RPM and my engine 1 turbine RPM drops rapidly, making the bird crash to the ground. Then I get the message: check main transmission. I have Dust protectors on and I am hovering 3 or more p above the ground (manually, not using Hover mode). I don't know what's happening, I'm trying again and again but it always happens just when I receive the confirmation that the driver is still OK. Anyone knows what's going on? Nate--IRL-- Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Can you post the track? Usually it's lastmission.trk in the temp folder. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
winz Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 This mission aims to teach you one thing - Check your fuel before lift off ;) edit: Sniped :P The Valley A-10C Version Revanche for FC 3
manne Posted July 25, 2010 Author Posted July 25, 2010 To talk in popular internet language: OMG Are you guys serious?? That is embarrassing :D
Insanatrix Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Yeah your Ekran was warning you forward tank was below 110. I think aft tank is bigger so thats why you lose 1 engine first, the other one is still running on vapor.
Nate--IRL-- Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Heheh. Happens to us all, at least once :) Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
winz Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Heheh. Happens to us all, at least once :) Nate Exactly :D The same place, tha same mission :) The Valley A-10C Version Revanche for FC 3
Insanatrix Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Never played the mission but I have run out of fuel before because of leaks and not paying attention.
einar-st Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Hehe.. they do mention in the beginning of the mission that they didn't have time to refuel the bird, but did get you a pair of extra external fuel tanks.
Insanatrix Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I think I saw them on there however if you don't flip up the pump switches for them they won't function.
Martillo1 Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 And when low on fuel don't forget to turn on the X-feed valve. Vista, Suerte y al Toro! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Frederf Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Without the electric fuel booster pumps the mechanical engine-driven pumps should work fine but there's no reason not to have the electric pumps on. Also note that the fuel gauge needles are reversed even in version 1.02. There's an LUA edit to correct this.
manne Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 Strange thing is that I remember playing this mission about a year back and that I didn't refuel at the start location, and made it all the way to the ship (where I crashed the bird trying to land on it :P).
DTWD Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Hahahaha This happened to me yesterday and I was about to post about it (different mission) and now I saw this I am glad I didn't :D However that said one time I could say this was fuel related, the other time, not sure, I was about 20 minutes into the mission in a hover and puff, "elec on acum" and the ground fast approaching. Can you get fuel leaks from damage? I don't think I took any hits, but since they altered the sound engine I am not always aware of getting hit. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
MTFDarkEagle Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Also note that the fuel gauge needles are reversed even in version 1.02. There's an LUA edit to correct this. Reversed? How do you mean? Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
DTWD Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Reversed? How do you mean? The needles don't match the tanks, in other words, aft if is infact front etc. As far as I understand it anyway. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

bumfire Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 (edited) The needles don't match the tanks, in other words, aft if is infact front etc. As far as I understand it anyway. yea, they are back to front, however I fixed it, not sure if you saw the thread that had the fix available, if you never saw it, here it is; http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=927779&postcount=11 basically, it just means putting the tanks in their correct numbered order. 137 and 138 just reverse those numbers for the tanks affected, so if forward tanks is number 137 and rear tank is 138, then change the numbers so that rear tank is 137 and forward tank is 138 and the guages ingame will be correct, works perfect.
