Kuky Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 We ask for realism, nice graphics, new textured in HD etc then fly in empty terrain with all the messages... its just stupid @HiJack... then you stick to 104th and stop telling other servers what to use 1 PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
GGTharos Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 People who are not using TS3 are NORDO. That is their problem. Want to be 'team friendly'? Learn to communicate and get on TS. That is not very "team" or multiplayer friendly Mustang. What do you do when flying on one of the sides when ppl don't use TS3? And I really like the 104th server's status messages and good graphic settings. I'l spend more time there now then ;) (HJ) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Vecko Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 You should really see the difference between realistic and your favorite settings for chat messages. Someone prefers excluded messages while somebody thinks that the game is more interesting when messages are visible. We must agree that the most realistic settings are somewhere in between. No one can tell me that it is realistic to kill the whole tank brigade while a couple of enemy fighters, a several dozen kilometers away, does not know anything about it?! Personally,i am satisfied with any settings but the differences in the understanding of "realistic way" will always exist. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Aerial Operations

Since there would be some kind of comms from command with updates of battle status and kills. Really it is a matter of preference with no right or wrong. Stats though at least give you a way to debrief which is missing in FC2/DCS multi-player. The more servers with different options that can maintain a player base, the better for everyone.
HiJack Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Kuky: I was posting MY FPS dropp when playing on the 51st server. Other users may not have the same problem and can fly perfectly OK on the 51st. I just reacted on the big difference in FPS from the 104th. I'm sorry if you who manages the 51st server feal this as critisism of you, it was not intended that way. (HJ)
Kuky Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I don't manage their server, I am in 3Squadron not 51st, but you were criticizing their server. I don't see any problem with their server because it's using high scenery, you can manually set at your end to have low scenery all the time (but if you hit invisible building because it's there but you can't see it its your "fault" :D) Anyway, I can agree with Vecko's comment that if your ground units were under attack they would relay the info to their side and they would call for CAS/CAP/whatever else is required, so from that perspective messages that would show if your units are under attack would be more realistic... and I'd like that to be message over radio ;) I personally just dislike labels, messages, you don't see s that in cockpit, you have a radio instead. HiJack Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 but you were criticizing their server. No I were not, I asked if they would change their server settings. They said "no", which is fine with me but dont fit my settings ;)
Case Posted September 19, 2010 Author Posted September 19, 2010 No I were not, I asked if they would change their server settings. They said "no", which is fine with me but dont fit my settings ;)But you forget to mention that I also told you how to override the server settings. Check it out and then tell us if things have changed? There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
HiJack Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 But you forget to mention that I also told you how to override the server settings. Check it out and then tell us if things have changed? Yes I saw the thread but I can't see I have a "old lowgrade PC" ;) I will check the thread again. I loose 75% of my FPS on the 51st server compared to other servers and find it strange, thats all. (HJ)
Kuky Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Well the 104th lot of times use Low scenery meaning there are no objects on the terrain except those at airbases and what ever objects they put in the mission.. the 51st on the other hand uses high scenery so there's where the performance difference comes. robmlufc Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Noob question...how do I save and watch a track from multiplayer? Sorry I know it's pretty basic! Just limped home with engine 2 doing some funky things and wouldn't mind seeing what state my BS was in. Also, in the charlie-foxtrot (something like that!) mission is there a bug after reds destroy the farp the next target wont trigger? Just keeps saying the il is two minutes out. Cheers, great server! Spaulding.
159th_Viper Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Noob question...how do I save and watch a track from multiplayer? Sorry I know it's pretty basic! Automatically saved in your Temp folder with description 'client-20100922-085603.miz.trk' or something to that effect. To watch again, just hit 'Replay' in the SP GUI, navigate to your temp folder via the folder options on the right of the screen and select the relevant track you wish to view. Moa Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 As an alternative, the lottu (LockOn Two Track Utility) tool provides one click replay (via program association) and a GUI interface for simplicity: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=53348
Case Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 These are some numbers on air-to-air missile usage I accumulated on the 51st server during August, September and October 2010. Shown here are the percentages of the missiles that killed (blue), hit (green) or missed (red) their target. At the right it shows how many missiles of each type were fired. During this three month period over 20000 air-to-air missiles were fired. This is an update of the plot I showed earlier, but now using much more data. In general, I think one can conclude the following: R-73's are the best air-to-air missiles, having over 50% chance of hitting their target, and about a 1 in 3 chance of killing it. Of the long-range radar missiles, they are ordered: R-77, AIM-120C, AIM-120B, AIM-7, R-27ER, R-27EM (note the small numbers on AIM-7 though). AIM-120C's are only slightly better than AIM-120B's. AIM-7's are most lethal when hitting. R-27ER's are the same as R-27EM's. 5 There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
GGTharos Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Obviously the R-27T needs to be porked ;) Joking aside, nice job :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Cali Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 (edited) Nice job Case, love the new things you have added to the stats server lately. Also love that your missions don't have every aircraft on each side in every mission. Aliboy Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Yes these stats are great...I was flying a couple of days back and I got a message that I have team killed some one with a R73 and I got negative points in the game but when I checked the stats it correctly registered my flight but did not register my " bug "teamkill" or any R73 shot. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Grimes Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I love stats like this. Its mighty impressive how close the R-27ER and R-27EM are with such a massive difference in the number of shots fired. Also how Aim-120C and R-27ER are almost nearly identical in shots fired, there is only a difference of 21! The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. GGTharos Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Not so much - I mean if you spare a moment's thought on it ... the EM and ER are really the same missile, as it ought to be. Grimes Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Thats sorta what I meant. Their in-game performance is identical, but the number of uses is a massive difference, yet statistically they are identical within a margin of error. I'm sure if Case implemented Time of Flight and other stats they would be similar in that regard to. 1 The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Teknetinium Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) Funny to see that I still kill most of my targets whit ETs and 73s, In Su-27 you have to risk so much to get in those ranges, cant resist the satisfaction of getting one ET in someones face. GG I hope you remember how good R-73/R-60 worked on that Georgian unmanned-aircraft :) Edited November 4, 2010 by Teknetinium 51st PVO Discord SATAC YouTube
