HAWX 2 on the horizon

Now that HAWX 2 is nearing release, it seems like we could be be facing some serious competition in the sim market, and specifically in the a10 sim market since they're also including that:

I know HAWX has a reputation for being superficial, but I always get worried that they might take potential customers away.

All the kids kids that decided to go the hawks path can go play hawks 2. All the cool kids that played dcs, fc2 and went the sim path, can continue on the sim trend. It's simple. :thumbup:

On the matter, though I think I'd have Ace Combat if they ever plan a PC version .. I don't like the 3D models in HAWX .. not accurate...

There is something to be said though that many people might play HAWX, then look to a sim like to DCS wanting more. I am sure it is happened. Comparing the 2 however, is like comparing Britney Spears to Mozart.

..played the first out of interests and gave up after 2nd mission, because it was just too damn arcady and lame (especially the controlls) - I don't get a sense of achievement after spamming my 100 rockets and taking down whole armies of evil russians/terrorists/chinese/whoever the bad guys were

I only played the demo and reinstalled my os after to make sure every trace of it was gone. I hated having to jump out of the cockpit and back in. Flying was like two different FM. For arcade ace combat destroys hawxs. I want a new version of that.

New Ace Combat.It's turning out not to look as great as the others, but it's still better than HAWX. (But FC2 is still the best!)

Why does Bandai Namco still don't realize the potential of PC?

It has more room for customizations and such..

 

I'm quite interested in the Ace Combat series.. and wanted to literally spamraam the skies using an F-15E "Chihaya" or some other Idol master jet :D

What you are basically talking about isn't a modification, it's an outright implant of a non-existing element, since there's nothing im place to even begin to do proper aerodynamics and physics modelling. :P

Why the hate?

HAWX = arcade fun... sometimes it's fun just to grab a console game and play for 30mins, complete with hollywood muzzle flashes and explosions coupled with wads of ammo.

 

HAWX = simple fun

SIMS = technical fun

HAWX is bad, they didn't even bother to put a tailhook on the F-35 that can't land on a carrier, on the mission where you land on a carrier with it.
