Hi guys.

Got issues with AA not working with BS or FC2 (and il2 for that matter).

I initially thought it might be due to TrackIR5, but I think I've ruled that out. I've got the latest gfx drivers installed, and I've tried fiddling with the nVidia control panel.

Anyone got any ideas? Is it worth trying nHancer?

If you're using custom Graphics profiles in BS with Nvidia control panel, you must make a new profile referenced to simulator.exe

Although you could just change the global GPU settings instead.

nHancer is small and simple/quick to use. Would be worth a quick try.

Same issue here with ATI 5870 and FC2. Anybody got any idea as to how I can get AA/AF enabled? At present only have CCC installed (no ATT etc).

You're not using ATT? you're joking right? :P

You do know it's safe to have both CCC and ATT installed, if one doesn't work, try the other :)

I have a similar issue. In Nvidia control panel, when I try to assign settings to BS or FC2, the frigging thing won't allow me to make changes! I worked around it - sort of - by changing the global settings, but AF doesn't seem to work well. Distance shimmering, etc. Really strange...

:megalol:

Haven't got around to installing it yet - Don't need the extra resources that the CCC hogs at present :P

OK - created a quick profile in ATT. Pointed the profile .exe to FC2\bin\x86\stable\launcher.exe

Once I click on the profile to load it I get the following error:

Any ideas where to from here?

:smartass: So? Out goes the bloatware CCC, in comes the lean ATT - I haven't had the CCC installed in years, thanks to Ray Adams' superb little utility. Don't know if you can set up specific profiles with the CCC, but it should at least be possible to force global settings, no?

Ah, you did the right thing there. Unfortunately you cannot start the sim via profiles, but if you point the profile to the correct *.exe = "simulator.exe" and then start the sim either via desktop-link or by doubleclicking the launcher.exe your settings will be enabled. I think it has to do with the fact that the relevant *.exe file is not in the root directory. It's the same for the Black Shark.

You could just do what i do and force global settings in Direct3D, i've never ever used profiles in my life, works for me :)

ATT version 1.6.9.1486

Still no AA/AF whatsoever with FC2

Also, set to edge-detect and save but it defaults to box after I run FC2........What's up with that?

Mine doesn't, have you ticked the "Restore previous setting after game end" box? Maybe you also have a global profile as per Mustang's post set up, so its reverting to those values?

Hmm, that is odd

I have noticed in your screenshot your tab is set to "3D settings" and not Direct3D and OpenGL specific, you might need to change that.

Try this:

open ATT, and right click the icon, and pick "Tweaks, Advanced settings" (it might warn you about tinkering with advanced tweaks, just ignore it)

once opened, goto the top tab "current database" and select "CCC Mode Switch" click the box next to "Enable merged 3D mode" until it's cleared.

Restart ATT and you should have separate options for Direct3D and OpenGL, try applying settings from there and see how you go.

If this doesn't work for you, then i'm not sure what will :noexpression:

Does not do anything, ie does not launch FC2 at all via profiles.

Yes I know, but you still need to setup the profile with the correct *.exe file and then start the game via desktop-link. Once the launcher loads the simulator.exe, ATT kicks in and enforces the settings from your profile.

Oh and I don't mean a desktop-link created by ATT, just make one yourself and point it to the *launcher.exe*

Uninstall your drivers, boot into safe mode, clean out remnants of old drivers with driver sweeper by selecting ati, then reboot and install new drivers and start over.

Thats what I would do, unsure if you already do this, but its really important to clean out remnants of old drivers with driver sweeper or driver cleaner etc before installing new drivers, or you could end up with loads of problems. Not saying thats the case here, but if you cant get AA to work, the usual suspect is dodgy drivers and 9 times out of 10 its usually fixed by a uninstall/clean/reinstall.

Thing is, it works fine with all other games/DCS:Hog......It's just FC2/Black Shark that's buggered.

Well, I don't have hands-on with the A10C but if the way the game is launched has changed so it doesn't do the launcher -> simulator -> launcher -> simulator process shimmy* anymore, or it's no longer dependent on the 'working directory' being explicitly set in the shortcut/profiler, that will be why it (and other applications) behave differently.

* If you check in a task manager, you'll see that as you bounce between the menu system and the flying the game, these processes die and spawn fresh copies of eachother with a new task/process ID, and that may be screwing with any application launcher that monitors the lifetime of that ID.

After throwing EVERYTHING at it (Driver Sweeper/CCleaner/New drivers sans CCC) in an attempt to get it to work, including the kitchen-sink and new phrases that would make a sailor blush...........with little success I might add........I finally stumbled upon the solution to my predicament!

Happy again - now I can take a coupla LOCERF screenies :D

Well, what was your solution?

Oh yes - would help.

Have two monitors on two DVI cables running from a 5870. Do not know if that is relevant at all, but with the current setup I have to have the 'Fullscreen' box ticked in the options menu.

Unticked 'fullscreen' option-box equates to no AA/AF, both in FC2 as well as BS.
