Mr_Burns Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Hey DM - would you mark it up with the material and use, I recognise a few of the parts.....go on..please!!
Deadman Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) I am not sure what you mean by "use" could you be more specific? the plans will be very detailed and more that likely wont cost a hole lot compared to other plans for other aircraft. Boltz Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Looks excellent. Looks like to me like it's plans for an entire pit... from metal. Definitely interested in this as about a week ago I was thinking that there were no plans for a metal pit. A-10C Cockpit Build Thread My YouTube Channel
Deadman Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 There are three pieces of wood in the pit just so you know inside front fire wall and at the end of the right and left consoles I have not made the bottom frame that holds the torque motors for the stick and pedals. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Deadman Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 Yes it will be plans for a metal pit. As of there are no full accurate metal plans for the A-10 https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Intrepid1 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 the wife helped out with some drawings today so I got a few things done You definitely have a keeper there, Do your best to keep her happy:thumbup: Randy
Deadman Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) your preaching to the choir there brother:smilewink: Edited December 1, 2013 by Deadman https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Mr_Burns Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I am not sure what you mean by "use" could you be more specific? the plans will be very detailed and more that likely wont cost a hole lot compared to other plans for other aircraft. Yes sorry, are those two pillars at the front for the frame - they look like they have a motor on them or something, wondered if you were looking at some type of canopy! So its all made from Aluminium (except the wooden bulkhead)? Just looks awesome!
Deadman Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 Yes there are two pillars in the front section of the cockpit. No they do not have a motor on them those are mounting brackets for different things. You must not have looked threw the rest of the thread where the pictures of my cockpit are. Yes there are both front windscreen frame and a rear frame of the canopy included on the cockpit. The front fire wall has aluminum on the out side and plywood on the inside the other pieces have not been drawn yet When this set of plans are done it will be the definitive set to get!!! I am a bit surprise there is so little response but hey what can ya do? https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Mr_Burns Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Must have missed a bit, your thread moves pretty fast! Last I heard you had found a full simulator! You know whats it like on here, we are photo junkies!
Deadman Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 yes that is what i an using for a base of the drawing for the cockpit. There should be quite a few picture in the thread You probably all so know I have most of the real control panels these i have used for reference on the drawings of the panels. For those of you that want a guide to make a replica this will be worth every cent. I have looked in the kick starter but i don't thiink for the limited number of copies that will be made it would work well https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
MacFevre Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Wow, DM. You must've really done a number on your hand. Take care, eh? If you need anything, let me know. I'll do whatever I am able to help ya out. Have you thought about also doing the fire handles? Just curious. If you don't want anything to do with the fire handles, I might have to learn how to cast them myself, I'm not really looking forward to that, though. ;) Buttons aren't toys! :smilewink: My new Version 2 Pit: MacFevre A-10C SimPit V2 My first pit thread: A-10C Simulator Pit "The TARDIS." Deadman Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 Hey Mac fire handles and the Main Instrument Panel (M.I.P) and Glare shield are all done have been for months. My main problem is not having the room for a CNC router. CNC time at the local 50 miles away sign company is $80 an hour so that may be a possibility. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Deadman Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 this is probably the most i can include in one assembly memory on the old beast is all most all used up for this. I still need to fix the MFCDs and finish up the side consoles and some of the cockpit it self. But this is what it looks like Now https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

Deadman Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 Thanks this should reduce build times and number of builds for guys. That and things will fit together for less than the price of a Mercedes Benz :music_whistling: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

Deadman Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 I hope others agree I probably will have to limit it to the structural components of the cockpit and not deal with the electrical at this point. One can not do every thing well https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Duckling Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 No worries from side, structual build and reference is the main issue. The electrical installation can be a separate topic if/when time allows. - - - -
Hansolo Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Agree... DM, if you need assistance to your book regarding the electrical (later/now) please let me know. I'd be happy to help out if I can. Cheers Hans 132nd Virtual Wing homepage & 132nd Virtual Wing YouTube channel My DCS-BIOS sketches & Cockpit Album

Deadman Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 How does the EOS compare to brydling boards? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=80201 I would like a system that cover every thing Switches Indicators lights rotaries, encoders servos/ air cores to run instruments https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
agrasyuk Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Brydling's device is lots of inputs combined into one convenient device. EOS bus however facilitates communication with compatible devices for both inputs and outputs. the two can perfectly live side by side. Anton. My pit build thread . Simple and cheap UFC project
