hollywoody Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 I notice that my air speed doesn't seem to be right? I'm runing the fans at 85% and the instructor mentions like a cruising speed of close to 300 or so.. I have trouble just trying to get to 250. Also is it normal to see the ailerons on each wing tip slightly in the up position? they dont seem to be flush with the inner part of the trailing edge of the wing. could this be the an issue with my speed? thanks [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://WWW.VFA-113.COM ________________________ Win 8.1 i5-3570 3.4ghz-Trackir5-TM Warthog - Pro-Saitek Combat Rudders-Viso 43" 4k"
darrenl Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Hey guys, I've updated the startup and shutdown procedures checklist, get it here: http://www.veao.eu/dcs_a10/DCS_A-10_Quick_Startup_Procedure.zip The file inside the zip is for MS word, but Vista and Win 7 have Wordpad which will open it up just as well. Hope it helps. I started using this last night...very helpful. What's been updated since the last version? Thanks for you efforts ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Commonsense Gamer: Blogging on MMOs and other stuff too

636_Castle Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 I'd say option 1 as long as we get a note saying the training mission is complete. Otherwise people start thinking a trigger didn't work right. At least I do... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] How To Fix Your X-52's Rudder!
CrashEd Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 (edited) Seem to be getting a random 'view direction' arrow if I rotate my head view towards the head rest. This happens in most of the training missions, even when other things are going on in the 'pit: Is there a reason for it or is it a bug? I'm also finding that a lot of the training missions fall out of sync due to various conditions not being met. Also, the Unguided and PGM training missions sometime just stop i.e. there are no other instructions from the trainer. You can fly around for half an hour sometimes and nothing will happen. Just an observation... Edited October 8, 2010 by CrashEd
shackman Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Will the training missions be adjusted to work properly, cause some of them such as the precision guided munitions one stops at a certain point when it asks you to go back to the DSMS, and then the yellow marker just stays there even though you have the mfd on the DSMS. cctoide Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Seem to be getting a random 'view direction' arrow if I rotate my head view towards the head rest. This happens in most of the training missions, even when other things are going on in the 'pit: I got one of these arrows too; on a later mission I turned around and noticed there was a yellow wireframe highlight around the headrest area. If I had to guess I'd say there's a script error in that mission that's causing it to highlight the headrest. Probably a known issue. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

power5 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Option 1b. Repeat training mission parts. May be difficult by I would like to have the maverick mission reread the employment section to me. I follow along at first, then when I start trying to line up and fire, I forget some of the commands. So I have to mess around till I get it, or restart the mission from the runway. Annoying to fly back to same spot. But gives time to practice other steps of combat. Lots of the missions have stuck arrows for me and not able to finish the class. The engines optimal RPM % is 85, also your weight and AoA might be slowing you down. I have no problem if I am straight and level with a full load getting up to 300. Also, the ailerons look "open" because they are your speed brakes when deployed, make sure what ever you have that set to has them closed fully.
