ObvilionLost Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) Also, i knew about renaming the file, which i did, but i didnt think about renaming DEFAULT stuff the SST software names itself. Pretty much if ANY description pops up on the MFD is longer than 16 characters, it will lock SST and anything commanded in there will cease to work in DCS. You can actually change the default names in SST profile. Just open .pr0 file and change the name filed. For example to fix this profile I just renamed name='Wheel Scroll Down' to name='Wheel Scroll Dw'. So this profile will work without the need to actually assign keyboard button to Wheel Scroll Down. Quip Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 SFJackBauer' Profile converted for X-52 Pro Yes, I have done the job of converting SFJackBauer's profile for the X-52 Pro. It is fully functional, and anything and everything SFJack's said also applies to my profile. There are 2 major changes, which are also in the readme: 1. T3, T4, T5 and T6 switches. These have been remapped so the the left switch manages the left engine, and the right accordingly. I think this is more logical. 2. MFD buttons on Throttle. These are entirely different on the X-52 Pro compared to the non-pro. Also, the START/STOP button sits above the "RESET" button, which makes it more natural to have the START/STOP go to VHF1. DO READ the Readme. There's some important information on importing the .lua to A-10C in there. Please feel free to use the attached files. Instructions as per SFJack's, and the readme. Also please let me know of any bugs as you find them. This is version 1.1 /QuipQuip-on-SFJack 1.1.zip
The_Pharoah Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 hi guys I must be missing something. I got everything to work nicely in SP. Then I tried booting up last night and logging onto a server only to realise that the mini mouse stick isn't working! :( I had to manually slew using the keyboard commands but was cumbersome. I then went back into SP and reloaded the .lua file and jumped into a SP training mission...the mini mouse worked fine for about 5 mins then stopped working again. Any suggestions? Like I said I had everything working fine and then it just stopped. AMD AM4 Ryzen7 3700X 3.6ghz/MSI AM4 ATX MAG X570 Tomahawk DDR4/32GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600mhz/1TB 970 Evo SSD/ASUS RTX2070 8gb Super

Reinstall the Saitek Drivers, and then, and this is important, the Saitek SST editor. Reboot when/if told. /Quip

Friedric Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Ok last try :) Where do i put the Lua file in please :( [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I/JG53_Friedric
Hunter192 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Downloaded this and love it! Only a few problems as I've listed below. 1. The Mini-Stick sometimes doesn't work for slew. 2. The slider for speed-brakes sometimes does not work (Not all the time) But these are easily fixed. I remapped the command to the keyboard using the Stick's Pinkie Switch as a modifier. Thanks! I don't know who you are, and I don't know what you want. But I will find you, and I will kill you. :pilotfly:
Quip Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 @Friedric: the lua for controls don't need to be "placed somewhere". You need to load them from within the game. Do remember that DCS titles uses 4 controller setups per aircraft; one each for Keyboard, joystick, mouse and TrackIR. So make sure you have clicked in the joystick column before you load the lua. @Hunter: Yes. This is something you have to fix in your keyboard controllers. Any function that you need to be able to use both unshifted and shifted (pinky), you must add both states to in the controller setup. For example, I have had to add [N] aswell as [JOY BTN 6 + N] for the airbrakes. This mainly applies to the controls you mentioned: airbrakes and ministick slew controls. For that same reason, in my latest private version, I have removed engine ON/OFF from the stick. The reason is that holding pinky and manipulating the flaps would potentially kill the engine. I have also moved the Coolie to the throttle and placed the CMS as shifted throttle hat. To me, this makes much more sence. If you're interested, I can upload this latest version too. But it's becomming less an SFJack profile.

Quip Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 OK, here's v2. Note several about this version that moves it away from SFJack's Coolie moved to Throttle Hat and CMS moved to Switched throttle hat Joystick base buttons no longer control Engines, but controls lights and MOST IMPORTANT, the profile is meant to be used with my own Snap views for better acces to the side consoles and a Zoomed-in MFD view! :-D Read the readme!Quip-on-SFJack v2.zip
Budweiser12 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Thanks!! Mule, Go to options/controls/axis commands. You'll see a button on the bottom left that says "Modifiers" click here and it will open the modifier page. In the left window there will be a list of modifier buttons you can add. Joy_Btn_6 is your "pinky switch". Click on the "add" button (it appears greyed out but does work) and it will be added to your list as a modifier. You can even rename it "Pinky" if you wish. Now when you want to assign a button a second function just assign the Pinky switch first in the modifier drop down then assign the button. Hope that was clear. Thank you Sarge!
Doctor Krieger Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) I'm using Quip's version of the profile for my X52 pro. For some reason, however, the bits with the pinkie switch don't work. All commands that are "Button 6 + another one" are marked red in the controls menu (using DCS world with A10C module). Any ideas on how to fix that? Edited November 30, 2013 by Doctor Krieger Nevermind... should have read the post right above this one
javelina1 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 My Joy_BTN6 under the controls/options is showing up as a "switch", rather than a "modifier". How can I get it to become a modifier? I've tried removing it from switch, and doing an add within the modifiers. but there is no option for Joy_BTN6! I'm selecting the Saitek X-52 from within the controls/options/modifiers... I've clicked that pinky switch as well, no joy.... No Joy_BTN6 to be found anywhere. anyone else come across this, and able to correct? javelina1 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I ended up removing my DCS folder in the saved games. then relaunched, and I was able to add joy_BTN6 as a modifier. weird.... Nealius Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 That's strange. I was just having issues with the Pinky switch as a modifier myself after importing my profiles to the 1.2.7 Beta. Once I remembered how to add Joy_BTN6 as a modifier it worked fine.

DiaboLusitano Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I have a big problem... I had to format my PC and reinstalled DCS Warthog. The problem is that i can no longer use my Saitek x52 .lua profile, it looks like ED changed the accepted profile fom ".lua" to ".diff.lua". And now the game just don't accept the old ".lua" profiles. Any one else with this issue? is there any Jack Bauer profile with the new ".diff.lua" file?
Sporg Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) Hi diabo I think that if you choose "all filetypes" under file type view, you can find the Jack Bauer.lua. After you load it, you should be able to save it as a diff.lua file? Let me know if it helps. Edit: Please disregard this post, it is not possible to do this, as cichlidfan points out in the post under this one. DiaboLusitano Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 That will not work. Because it simply won't let me load the .LUA profile. I don't play DCS any more... I've spent so mutch time memorising all the commands, neary 80, that i just don't have the time or patience to learn all again... Plus, i've all my other aerial sims with a similar profile so i don't need to memorise 3 or 4 diferente profiles... Thanks ED... For killing this game for me. (at least for now) The very least you could've done is giving us some kind of conversion tool. I know that i'm not the only one screwed with this.
nwbasson Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I still use this without any problems, I can look tonight? Maybe I can save it as the file format you need, I have changed it a little though.
