Lock On ATC Screen Mod II

I´m in Spain until monday evening and i haven´t finished the radar detection circles or the implementetation of the other airport maps yet, so i will post a link for an updated version around wendnesday i guess. thx for all your comments.

I´m not so sure about the AWACS. I think its a lot of work to implement an altitude map to figure out if some plane is hidden. What i could try to do is fake the whole thing by simply defining mountain areas and hide planes as long as they are, say below 100 metres of altitude ? But that´s also quite a lot of work, so it´s more of a long term goal.

:) Nice game for all wanna be ATC's

http://www.polymoon.org/tobi/privat/Tracon.zip

I already played this game when a 386 was still high end :)

future thoughts:

-Mountains should be implemented (simplified)

-Aspect Ratio + target size should be considered

-Radar detection should be in accordance to target altitude

-Scanbar should be visible and updates in a stepping manner

thx Plancton and the makers of tracon for all the inspiration...

I read some formulas in the other thread concernig radar cones and detection radius, please post again if available.

I talked to JaBoG32_Dirty, who is Airbus Pilot, and got told that radars have blind spot directly on top of them since they cant scan all the way up, how does it behave ?

Some help on the radar attributes recherche would be really nice...

To the Dev's:

Custom fix points other than the return points would be really awesome...

BETA 3

Download

-Added new Radar types and modified ranges

1L13 EWR 300km

55G6 EWR 300km

S-300PS 64H6E sr 180km

Patriot STR 170km

S-300PS 40B6M tr 160km

S-300PS 40B6MD sr 120km

Buk SR 100km

Hawk SR 90km

Hawk TR 90km

Kub STR 75km

Dog Ear rdr 35km

Roland rdr 35km

Osa 9A33 30km

Tor 9A331 25km

-Added static(undestroyable) Airport Radars, until now with fixed range of 390km

-Changed update intervall back to 5 seconds which is more realistic and gives some meaning to the history dots...

-Added the Kuz

I will not implement radars with ranges less than 25 km since most of them are to small and do not transmitt data to other stations, thus are unrealistic.

version1.0

Update...

The height map is included and working fine. It's based on a 810x810 meter grid that resides completly in memory... :).

It resembles exactly what can be seen below and makes it possible to hide in the mountains from selectable and destroyable ground and non destroyable airport radars:

types[3]="-1L13 EWR with a detection Range of 300 km\n"

types[4]="-55G6 EWR with a detection Range of 300 km\n"

types[5]="-S300PS 64H6E with a detection Range of 180 km\n"

types[6]="-Patriot STR with a detection Range of 170 km\n"

types[7]="-S300PS 40B6M TR with a detection Range of 160 km\n"

types[8]="-S300PS 40B6MD with a detection Range of 120 km\n"

types[9]="-9S117M1(Buk Search Radar) with a detection Range of 100 km\n"

types[10]="-Hawk TR with a detection Range of 90 km\n"

types[11]="-Hawk SR with a detection Range of 90 km\n"

types[12]="-Kub STR with a detection Range of 75 km\n"

types[13]="-9S86(Dog Ear Radar) with a detection Range of 35 km\n"

types[14]="-Roland Radar with a detection Range of 35 km\n"

types[15]="-Osa 9A33LN with a detection Range of 30 km\n"

Standart Airport Radar "-RLS PRW-37 with a detection Range of 100 km

Because the RLS PRW-37 Radar can not be destroyed you can to skip the selection of the airport radar.

Note that radars will not see anything as long as the contacts are below the radar horizon or not in line of sight.

Until now it's installed on our dedicated server and can be accessed by pressing the link. By pressing connect without typing any IP, it automatically connects to our radar server.

http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/atc/ATC_100.swf

With the coming downloadable update there will be an admin panel for configuring and locking the join options, kicking controllers and setting a password.

Additionally there will be a client Bullseye tool for the second monitor that connects to the internal Bullseye.

All Airports, taxiway and aprons are now included.

Many new functions for the ruler can be activated by mouse over on target plus the following keyboard keys:

"R" - Range/Bearing Line from a static to another static point on the map

"B" - Bullseye Range/Bearing Line from Bullseye to dynamic contact.

"1,2" - Dynamic to dynamic contact Range/Bearing Line

"Backspace" - Declutter Labels

Display Options:

-Coastline

-Bullseye

-10Nm Final approach dashed lines

-Height Map

-Current Position in WGS84 lat,long and UTM Zone + Easting/Northing

- removed and optimized a lot of code (while being drunk @ 4 in the morning)

- fixed another follow up bug that caused a major lag in the beginning...

- radar altitudes will need some fine tuning to assure the airport radars to actually see planes on the apron...

will start making the admin panel now.

@GGTharos

Thx !

@Gronyi

1.0 will take another few weeks.

@Kenan

It's a standalone app that recieves the data through the export.lua...

The ATC Client is open again with a new password:

atcclient

All Pilots who connect to the Client and simultaneously connect to Game Server are automatically kicked and logged... :) This is done by reading the AsyncNet.log file which resides in Lockon/temp/AsyncNet.log...

There are still a few bugs and the admin tool still unfinished but I'm optimistic the new version will available for download end of the week, so i can start with the mission editor...

Hi zillion !

I've installed your ATC software recently and I played with it a little. First things first: this is awesome !!!

I just have a small question: I can't configure any radar and/or airport settings in the admin panel (e.g. the AWACS as an unlimited detection range while on the JaBoG server the AWCS can only see up to 350km or so). Did I miss something or is this admin panel still in progress ?

That's a great job, keep it up !
