sweinhart3 Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I cut out my own frame out of wood to hold the LCD screens and used double sided tape for cougar mfds. Intel i7 990X, 6GB DDR3, Nvidia GTX 470 x2 SLI, Win 7 x64 http://picasaweb.google.com/sweinhart

stelios2000 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 if i buy this twice...will be good for the MFDs ??? http://www.chinavasion.com/product_info.php/pName/7-inch-tft-lcd-touch-screen-hdmi-monitor-vgaav-input/ thanks
roy_batty2010 Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Well using Velcro would still require a Velcro strip be glued to the LCD. I myself am in a similar situation, I have a 19" LCD that I want to use for the A-10c MFD information, and I want to attach the cougar panels without damaging the screen. I remember this rubber cement like glue I used when I was a kid called mucilage that was non toxic and was easily removed from non porous surfaces. I'm thinking this may be the way to go.
Slammin Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 When I had my MFD attached to my 8" touchscreen I used velcro. I would not let the velcro touch the surface of the screen though. Feed Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Attach velcro to the monitor bezel (plastic outside the screen), and use strips of rubber to pad the MFD edges that cover part of the screen itself - sticking/gluing anything directly to your monitor face is bad juju if you ever want to reposition/change it.
slowhand Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I used dbl sided sticky tape on the bezel and a cotton ball under the lower rt and lt corners of the mfd's that sit on the monitor..works great:pilotfly: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] SMOKE'M:smoke: IF YA GOT'M!:gun_rifle: H2o Cooler I7 9700k GA 390x MB Win 10 pro Evga RTX 2070 8Gig DD5 32 Gig Corsair Vengence, 2T SSD. questerymj Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I will suggest you go cut a piece of pixel glass(2~3mm), drill some 2.5mm holes and use some M3 screw to fix the TM MFD bezels, then use tape or other material to fix your 4:3 8 inch LCD panel in the back. Use the way that you can remove the LCD panel without damage it is better. The pixel glass can provide protection to your LCD panel too, and you can apply some paint on the pixel glass(not the display area) to prevent light leaking and increase looking.
LeLv30_Superbus Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 whats the recomended way to attach them to the screen? One way to go about this is to build a small box around the displays and keeping the feet which come with the displays. Pictures in Input & Output forum: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=44846&page=17 This way you don't have to glue anything on the TFT-panels. BHawthorne Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I just wish some manufacturer would come out with a 1:1 aspect ratio screen to use in these bezels. Sure, for the quantities used the cost would suck, but I can dream. :)

These are somewhat bigger than those in F16 and with sharp edges. They'd sell like hotcakes! But would one USB be enough to power the screen and the bezel buttons? [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
demolspeed Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 Use a screen protector to avoid damaging it and double-sided tape. Only in the corners is enough
