jerda Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Its funny to see someone else use the nostromo n52! I've gotten alot of use out of it with DCSa10.

Feed Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I have to ask ... since you have the Warthog, I'm going to assume the Cougar stick is modded ... is there a reason you're not using the handle from the 'hog?
Slammin Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 Yes, the Cougar is U2/Nxt modded. My WH handle will not fit into the Cougar base, probably due to the mod. Deadman Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 If your getting some wobble between the grip and base try inserting an O ring in between the grip and base just the same diameter as the connector. Yes, the Cougar is U2/Nxt modded. My WH handle will not fit into the Cougar base, probably due to the mod. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Succellus Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Well then the question remains.. why not use the Hog stick ? instead of the Cougar ? Any size, handling problem ? (No pun intended, well, too late). HaF 922, Asus rampage extreme 3 gene, I7 950 with Noctua D14, MSI gtx 460 hawk, G skill 1600 8gb, 1.5 giga samsung HD. Slammin Posted January 3, 2011 Author Posted January 3, 2011 I don't dislike the Hog stick, but the Cougar with U2/Nxt is just more precise for me. hassata Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 same. if it wasnt for the cockpit mount and my setup, i'd use the uber base no question [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
dvarrin Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Slammin, I would like to do the same with the two screens. How did you fixed them? Daniel
Slammin Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 In the pictures you should be able to see where I put two screws in the desk behind the main monitor to keep the main monitor from sliding backward, and for the lower monitor, those two black posts that keep it from sliding towards me are also screws but I taped them so they would not scratch the monitor bezel. I attached the MFD's to the lower monitor by using two small strips of velcro. The lower monitor slides back put pretty easily though I have since tied all the cables into a bundle, so it is a little bit of work getting it out of there, but I don't plan on moving it anytime soon. This desk has got to be at least 25 years old and it's got holes all over it from different configurations over the years. Slammin Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 Yes, the Hog stick is on R&R. I use the Cougar U2/Nxt because I like it better. Thank you very much Slammin! :-)) For the two MFD's did you put a protection on the screen before putting the velcro?
Slammin Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 The velcro never touches the screen. It's only on the bezel. Feed Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I actually made the mistake of attaching the MFD bezels directly to the monitor face (the screen, not the edge), and then decided to move things around ... monitor survived, but I would NOT recommend it.

Succellus Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 The velcro never touches the screen. It's only on the bezel. I was wondering about this issue with my shirt buttons the other day, velcroing them only on the bezels is enought ? When you press the buttons on the "free corner" the MFD don t slam the monitor surface ?
