joey45 Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 British Empire Medal???? The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. BadWeather Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I've got some Courage Order medal and a Medal of Courage from the russians. Both I got flying the separatist aggression in single player. I remember I got 72 ground kills(two re-arms) when given the medal of courage. Though I think I got them both from a head on attack with the cannon on a shilka.

Ptroinks Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 These medals are pointless! I just got a medal that's only awarded to personnel who have served in the armed forces (of Norway) for 25 years. Right... I have 29 flying hours in game... I'm not saying that it should wait and give it to me when I have 25 years flying time :), I'd just like the medals to be less random... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
TheBigDog Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I'm fairly certain medals are awarded to career score or campaign progression...I've gotten quite a few at this point and there seems to be no rhyme nor reason for their awarding

The Order of the British Empire has two seperate divisions. - Civil and Military. The British Empire Medal is still awarded however, but to civilians & indiginous military from British Colonies - Gibralter for example. I am a member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the Military Division. My Medal was awarded in 2009 from the Queens Birthday Honours list for work of an operational nature in Iraq and Afghanistan. I'd also like to paste a comment i have on our own forums over on the 74th's website, with regards to Medals in General for the Sim or as a vfs. General Community Notice: All of the medals and awards for the 74th are based upon Real Life awards from around the world. It is respectfully requested of viewers of this post to note that no 'disrespect', 'Malice' or 'belittling' is meant to any country or countryman of the awards offered by the 74th as part of a 'virtual enviorment'. On the contrary, They are all 'fine' medals that have been chosen for the 74th vfs 'The Flying Tigers' by me, who is a serving soldier in the British Army holding the rank of WO1 (RSM). I hold Seven UK Operational Awards, one USA award, one NATO award and a Royal Award (MBE), and hope that you accept this as evidence that I hold 'every' country's awards to it's Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Civilians with complete respect. Medals and awards in a virtual sense are a way of recognising achievements in the sim, not neccessarily related to their real life meaning, providing it is clear in the vfs or sim what the medal was awarded for.
