JCook Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Very nice manual. One thing though, step#36 appears to be saying Calibrate the Altimeter to zero. What you should be doing there is setting the altimeter to the local altimeter setting which you would get from ATIS or the local control tower. Setting barometric pressure value in the little window on the altimeter provides you with an accurate airport elevation reading above sea level.

What you should be doing there is setting the altimeter to the local altimeter setting which you would get from ATIS or the local control tower. Setting barometric pressure value in the little window on the altimeter provides you with an accurate airport elevation reading above sea level. Depends on wether you are setting QFE or QNH. QFE sets altimeter to read zero at the runway in use threshold, QNH is altitude above mean sea level. A lot of military SOPs set QFE for take-off and landing. They then either use a regional pressure setting, QNH or 1013 (Standard). 1 i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q
MemphisBelle Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) @bavella1, you better should have offer this one as downloadable zip file. Not just as a pdf file. This is always causing trouble. Check my guide I created back in October. It is zipped and stored on a webserver. So no problems will occure while downloading. It is too bad that your effort wont get reccognized as it should be as only a few folks can get this...I even cant get this either. None of the 2 links works for me. But may it be that this one isnt related to beta 4? That seems more to be a beta 2 one, since you made this on nevada map. I tried to load Nevada map in the editor as this seems not to be available... EDIT: I stored this guide, compressed as rar file, on our webserver. So that shouldnt be a problem anymore to get this. Download Bavella1 Rampstart guide enjoy Edited January 7, 2011 by MemphisBelle 1 BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection
bavella1 Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 Thanks MemphisBelle - I've added your link in my first posting and enjoyed your tutourial. The work on this guide started in November, form an earlier beta. I took some of the screenshots form the youtube videos (like producers notes), so the pictures might be not that correct at all. But I think the main thing was to point out the location of all of the buttons and a correct sequence to do the rampstart. Maybe I will continue the work on this. I'm thinking about setting up the Own- and Network-ID for Multiplayerflights. Also usefull would be the sequence to change Lasercode for GBUs and TGP. - In this case your link would point to an older version and I would like to ask you to reset it to a newer one. But for now my holidays are ending and it will take some time until a newer version appears. Have fun! bavella
