These lights over taxiway can't be there otherwise taxiway can't be used, unless those lights are inside the concrete taxiway. If they are 2m above ground and as part of ILS glidescope they will look out of place in this airbase

Yes, you are right Edin.

I know lights must be sank into the ground/in a level with the concrete if those positioned on taxiway/runway (4xmpl just like here: New York - JFK) but im very early in the development.

On those images i tested collision models of "bubbles" too :D Sometimes i amortized gears of Kamov or exploded bunch of "bubbles" (and aircraft) when i rolled into lights on taxiway :D

In the future all lights on runways/taxiways will be placed correctly, without serious collision model.

Lights wont damage the aircraft but will do small bumps (in cockpit) when we will roll/pass over them: at least this is my plan.

you can hear rumble-tumble noises when aircrafts roll over light bodies http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=X-xGZhoaKv4#t=63s

Otherwise many lights (with pillars) are much more higher than 2 meters...of course not on runways/taxiways or front of the Touchdown Zone

We have those lights here at Guam. I don't know if they are on the runway, but they are on the taxiways.

HungaroJET, I think Kuky is talking about how the lights are on the taxiway at that base. I have never seen lights in the middle or covering a taxiway like that.

Yup, that's what I was talking about and I think HungaroJET got the message and will fix it up (make these lights flush with tarmac)

Like I said, I'm never seen lights in the middle of the taxiway like that. Do some airports do this? If not, is there a way to move them back into the grass area before the taxiway?

I think taxiway green centerline lights are no too common.

I guess we can see only @ large civilian airports on huge concrete areas and on high-speed taxiway/exitway. (on some airport maybe activated only when the weather is foggy)

(i circled by hand "from taxiway to runway" stop lights: REL - Runway Entrance Lights, boxed flecks are taxiway and ALS lights)*

I am unsure about the purpose (early touchdown?, longer runway/taxiway for huge aircrafts?) and exact name of this frontal area of runway with arrows but we can see also some "taxiway" centerline lights here and the last nine rows of ALS lights inside of the runway/safety zone/extended length of runway. (maybe we can see some THL - Takeoff Hold Lights too)

unfortunately i dont have photo of this part of JFK runway

So, i think i will lowering last 5-10 ALS light rows... need to be in same level with runway (final 500-1000 feet)

Ok, got cha, guess I'm use to seeing AF bases and normally I landed on them during the day.

No FPS drop. I mean same FPS with/without ALS "bubbles".

~1100 triangles up to now with TZL

Some comparative datas:

old An-2M static model has ~1400 triangles :D

old F-117 model 1.3K-3.8K triangles

old F-14A model 2.2K-6.8K triangles

old F-16 model 12K-24K trgs

new F-18C 120K-250K trgs

new F-15C 160K-320K trgs

new A-10C 205K-480K trgs

(higher trgs numbers: all triangles are visible - with Damage Model, gears down and everything "opened")

new F15-PTB 3.6K triangles (external fuel tank model)

hey Hungaro i found a pic of JFK 13L to you :)

http://www.airliners.net/photo//1766549/L/

and you wrote that you are looking for nice homogeneous colors of runway and ALS lights

i found one which is perfect i think

yellowish aviation-white ALS lights

bluish-white flashers

green treshold lights

red PAPI and pre-treshold wing-bar side lights

and 3 more:

taxiway edge lights to runway lights - Kuky

as far as i heard/read on some hungarian forums he got a new VGA card and he's very satisfied with it :)

AFAIK first he will update old airfield lights and later update new airfields too with ALS lights

but i guess he works on an F-16 model too ;)

ps. i forgot to mention his updates of MiG-29 i think

Compliment indeed -- I'm staggered by how much better something can be made to look by such simple means. I'll never fly in daylight again!
