Sun and flash mod

I removed the sun ray effect and change the flash colour for the maverick launch because I thought it was too white.

Hmm... Maverick looks good... but doesn't the sun seems it has a bit too much gamma? Otherwise, if you could make it so that the edges can blend somewhat more its very good :thumbup:

Final version. It's not for everyone but for those who don't like the spider rays effect.

Thanks BD, looks good! I personally don't mind the rays, I think in many situations they look fantastic. Nevertheless, your work between this and the flare mod is trending excellent... keep it up!

Not a significant increase 2-3 fps.

I uploaded it to the DCS user files. Not sure when it will appear there. I combined this with the flare mod, but I included the original sun ray textures incase someone just wants the flare mod. I'll update the installer to allow users to choose what they want to install in the next few days. :)

Nice MOD, but i think the size of the sun (and halo) is unrealistic. Huge !

Look at the reflection on the sea.

Should be the same size like that what shows on the sea.

So can you change the sun more smaller ?

I think it should be more realistic, but the most realistic should be if you add red colour into "body" of the sun on the time of sunrise and a sunset :thumbup:

You're looking at a snap shot..the bloom, and its size varies relative to the time you look at it. Initially, it is large but reduces in size over a period of a few seconds.

 

Anything can be changed but Idon't have time right now :)

Not possible. HRD lighting is new to DCS:A-10C.

Reading some of the text in the installer it says I should back-up my files before install because there is no uninstall feature... possible to find out exactly which files I should be backing up? Thanks and great work!

The installer has been updated with an unistaller that will restore the orignal files.

 

The orginal files must be in your current install or the installer will not work because it renames the orginal fies to (example Flare - org.tga)
