Any A2A mods for the BS?

Well, since DCS absolutely refuses to even think about giving us A2A, has any mod ever been done for BS or LO that anyone knows of?

And if anyone knows how this could be done, could you please post? I can see how to mount the R-73 with CLSID's, now I just need a mod to get tone and fire. I can't see anyway in the files so far though.

Any help is appreciated ( by many people).

Create a mission with 4 AI Ka-50's and fly one A-10A yourself in between them (slow flyby) and cry when going down :D They sure can shoot :P

PS! Make sure the Ka's have Vikhers ;)

I'm looking for A2A on the Shark. And so are others. Like I've said, I've got the missle on the rail, now I'm just looking for a mod that can fire it.

What are you talking about? Do you have some kind of personal beef against an A2A mod? Its beginning to appear so. I don't see any rules against mods. If you want to warn someone, warn the trolls. You seem to be backing them. Kind of like a teacher protecting the bullies.

@Barra - Thanks man. I'll take a look at it. I really want to see some A2A on this heli, iglas if possible. But I'll take what I can get.

Edit: Well, just looked at it, and thats just a replacement model. But thanks anyway.

Like i said earier, i never have a problem with the Vikhr's on Heli's, or even on a few fixed wing. But if you can't use it correclty as a weapons platform, well............. FACT: No A2A dedicated missiles for KA-50. What you want Aim9's or perhaps R73's?

It simply not realisitc. if you want to make the Mod, then make it, chances are, you'll fly on your own with it.

I am happy to 'teach' you how to use VIKHR's in the A2A role against rotar and fixed wing........wanna date?

A ka-50 if handled correctly is able to become quite a nasty surprise even for those who are supposed to be on top of the food chain.

Not to validate Henchmans argument or anything, but that guy was hanging out at an enemy airbase shooting aircraft while they are on the ground. Its not exactly the same thing as shooting em down with both aircraft airborne. Besides, the R&R stats are what matters the most anyways. :music_whistling:

Lol, quite different. The real problem with the vihker is your in combat. Your one person trying to fly the aircraft and do evasive, and find cover, and at the same time, trying to lock up the target. Air targets moving fast can be very hard to lock up, and jets almost impossible. The shkval simply won't lock, even if you have the box over it. For a single seat chopper, air defense really should be an IR missle, like the Igla. The missile just needs to be pointed at the target, and it will most likely lock if its within range. Now you can fire, and dive for cover, without having to keep the copter pointed at the target. The second problem I have with the vihker is that it doesn't seem to be able to keep within the laser tunnel when going against fast targets. In the sim, against jets and sometimes heli's, it shoots out of the tunnel because it can't keep up with it. And of course, thirdly, there's the heli AI, who seem to have no problem locking you up, ever. Hopefully, patches to bring us up to the new Warthog world will change that.

I've been playing this sim for about 2 years now, getting a little bored with it, so would like to try an A2A igla / R73 mod if someone ever makes it.

Shooting aircraft at the ground from a bomber or helicopter is allowed on most of the servers, and it makes sense I think, because they are not meant to fight dedicated A2A opponents.

This pilot used Ka-50 strengths and avoided SAM's and other threats before attacking the air base. I would say thumb up!

@ luza, I can understand people asking for it. People mod games/sims all the time to make it do what they want or what they think it should do. Some people want this sim to have air to air weapons. All it takes is for someone with both the desire and the know-how to implement it. I have neither.

I can see it happening by way of a mod, but I don't imagine ED would implement them into the sim itself unless the KA-50 started carrying them in service.

Nice! Reminds me of that movie "Fire Birds", where Sean Young is pulling the Stinger off of the post on the downed Apache. Where did you get that from?

On the Ka-50, I have seen 2 Igla's mounted right under the flare dispensers. Looks like they just added a post for them. On another shot, I saw 6 Igla tubes in a group mounted on one of the main posts.

And it seems to be a small group of you who want to attack it vigorously. Some of us want A2A iglas on the Ka-50. Its all for offline ( unless some server wants to put it on) so it doesn't affect anyone else in the least. I really don't know why some of you are in such an uproar over it. I would say "you" are the ones who have the bee in your bonnets. And as shown above, it totally exists. Arguements that say it absolutely doesn't have failed pretty miserably so far.

^ All you can tell/write about the Apache & Stinger is that the U.S.ARMY does not need it nowadays, and what all i can tell/write about:
