Personally, I would have gone with "That genre does not suck, and you are being rude", but that seems to go against the "cognitive therapy" approach to moderating.

 

Cross pollination of threads sows confusion. That's why it's so much fun!

GlowingAmraams video is missing a little something, and I know what it is......Zombies. Many, many zombies! Maybe someone should suggest this for his next promo "DCS:FXX Vs the zombies"

Hmmm Amraams is good, but there is no emotion (due to the subject matter), the Deus Ex trailer is good (and rather long), but again is missing a certain something.

 

I found the Dead Island trailer to be rather emotional, yes the CG looked a bit ropey at times, but the little details were rather good, the style and presentation top notch...and the music...my god the music!

Definitely so, however I like the soundtrack behind original trailer (non-director's cut), it gives me goose bumps each time I watch/hear it.

Whilst I've not really bothered with a battlefield game (or its competitor games) in yonks - other than arma2 which isn't quite the same thing - their trailer deserves a mention for being ALL in-gameplay footage rather than pre-rendered CGI work. As short as it is, it gets distinction for that. It's worth reminding ourselves that GA's videos was using in-game footage too (with a little augmentation) rather than totally external rendering.

I gotta say, that Deus Ex trailer was quite good indeed! Felt more like a movie, rather than a game too.

 

I'd always wanted to evoke emotion in a video, but as of late, it's been more of "action" promos, rather than a story-based one, or a movie that tries to make a point. I'm looking into some stuff, but clearly, there are some REALLY impressive trailers out there! :)

Ok, I think you need to disengage your fawning mode :P

 

I jest, GAs trailers and videos are good, but that trailer...for me had something very special, rarely seen in hollywood trailers and not something that I have ever seen in a game trailer.
