According to the DPA, U.S. Navy and Royal Navy ships and subs have launched 112 cruise missiles and hit 20 targets.

 

Targets were air raid defence sites (I suspect SAM and AAA) around Tripoli, and along the coast south of Bengasi.

And the operation is called: Operation Odyssey Dawn.

 

Targets which were hit by cruise missiles were also communication and command facilities.

And now, the U.S.A. leads the operation, especially Admiral Samuel J. Locklear from the "USS Mount Whitney", part of a fleet of 24 ships from Italy, Canada, GB and France. But for all that, the U.S. doesn't stands in the first row (with actions).

3 B-2 Stealth Bombers from continental US attack Libyan Airfield Misratah/Al Ghiran and Mitiga (near Tripoli) with S-200 SAM systems being located there.

 

RAF Tornados also participaded in last night's attacks being deployed from RAF Marham. Stormshadow (SCALP EG) missile as a weapon of choice.

 

However several bombs (or Tomahawks) also struck Tajura Nuclear research center located 10 miles east of Tripoli.

Amir Moussa from the arab coalition critiziced today some of the strikes which may have made colateral damages saying coalition is getting out the task it was ordered . but seems that Mr Moussa forgot that Khaddafi tanks were entering Benghazi after UN resolution was voted exactly so that colateral damages could happen . however images taken of insurgents in Benghazi today and yesterday show very happy people . about UN resolution it allows such strikes until they are made to protect civilians from immediate threat . on Kusch pics we see clearly artillery in order to pound the city and around the web there are pics of Khaddafi tanks destroyed inside Benghazi too . i think coalition will put the ratio force between Khaddafi and the insurgents a bit like before the planes began their bombing then we'll go home

saturday : Rafales and Mirages 2000 attacked a column near Benghazi with AASM seems 7 vehicles were destroyed

Sunday dawn : 19 US planes including B-2 , F-16 , F-15 and 1 harrier attacked airbases and their aerial defences . seems B-2 target was a huge base . also 112 tomawack were fired from UK/US ships/subs

saturday to sunday night : UK Tornado attacked SAM sites mainly around Tripoli . also some Tornado GR4 were reported to have attacked several targets between saturday and sunday with Stormshadow , after a 4800 km flight from UK

dozen of tanks shells have been spotted on the road from Benghazi to Ajdabiah (Reuters)

tomorrow coalition is expected to attack Khaddafi army's supply lines

Today took off several F-15E from Moron NATO base, in Spain, to Libya. That base has a lot of activity actually because of Libya.

Danish F-16's have now been on mission over Libya twice - first Sunday around noon and again sometime during the night(Sunday-Monday).

 

It is not know what exactly their missions were(confidential), but the jets were seen to carry a mix of air-to-air/air-to-ground ordinance, so I would assume their objectives involved ground targets.
