Itkovian Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Salutations, I recall Track IR reportedly not working on 64-bit systems. Has this been fixed in Track IR's 5.1 software version? And a minor technical question: would I need to uninstall my current TIR software, or does it update properly? Thank you. Itkovian
Mud Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Version 5.1 works fine on x64 systems. I'd advise to indeed uninstall the old version first (save your custom profiles to be safe - if you have any) Bonso Spoiler W10-x64 | B650E Gigabyte Aorus Master | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | Noctua NH-D15 G.Skill Trident ZS Neo DDR5-6000 64Gb | MSI RTX 3080ti Gaming X Asus Xonar AE | VPforce Rhino + TM Hotas Warthog MFG Crosswind pedals | Valve Index

Yes And a minor technical question: would I need to uninstall my current TIR software, or does it update properly? If not version 5, uninstall version 4.1.0.38 then install 5.1 final. Itkovian Posted March 21, 2011 Author Posted March 21, 2011 Very well, thank you. How do I save my custom profiles anyway? (only got 1, for BoB2, I'm not one for fiddling with such) Itkovian
kingpinda Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 make sure the driver is uninstalled also in device manager. in some cases the old driver remains which will give problems with your new trackir 5.1

Itkovian Posted March 21, 2011 Author Posted March 21, 2011 It will ask you during the install process. ... you mean the uninstall process? If I don't back up my profiles before I uninstall then it won't help during the install of the new software, right? Itkovian
Pteradon Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Look in the directory were you have installed your TrackIr driver, there will be a map called "profiles". Itkovian Posted March 21, 2011 Author Posted March 21, 2011 Look in the directory were you have installed your TrackIr driver, there will be a map called "profiles". And do you simply copy/paste those files back in the new version's directory for it to detect them? Itkovian
=Panther= Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 During uninstall it will ask if you want to back them up. During installation it will ask about backing up profiles, the save profiles should be in the same directory when you reinstall. Given that you installed from TIR5 to a newer version of TIR5. Slammin Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I just got my TIR5 today. It replaced my TIR3 that I never did upgrade to Vector Expansion. Anyway, why didn't someone tell me how much better TIR5 is?!!?! Well, actually, every post I've read said the TIR5 was better but I really had no idea what I was missing without 6DOF. Wow! This is very cool stuff! And yes, the tracking is much, much smoother too.
