Sinky
I've been having problems with blurry textures since my reformat. I can't recall if this started happening when I got my new GPU or with the new patch. The textures are not as bad when flying at low level but it's not far off the screen shot. I have 16X AF forced in CCC along with high quality texture filtering and mip mapping. Thanks in advance for any help. Panzertard
I wouldn't know how to get rid of it, but I know how to make suggestions: - Reset & clean out all Graphic drivers (as well as running driver sweeper), reinstall drivers. Need to get all the settings back to default. - If not change, try a full reinstall of the game, remember to clean out the C:\Users\<you>\Saved Games\DCS Warthog before you install again. 1 The mind is like a parachute. Mustang
You might want to take a look through the posts in this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=71383 (post #12 onwards is where the juicy info starts) it may or may not be related to the blurryness you're experiencing, but still worth a read.
Sinky
I will try a full reinstall of the game in a day or two using the newly patched download, failing that I will mess with the drivers. Sinky
i have the same problem after patch...did you find any solution What are your pc specifications? I tried a full reinstall of the new download yesterday and I'm still having the same problem. I've seen someone else with the problem here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=71789. As a side note, I did remember to clear out the DCS Warthog folder. I also left graphic settings untouched after the reinstall just in case. Mustang
Ok, well thats how the settings should be. Quite baffling really, since i use a XFX HD5770 1GB too, but i never see these blurry textures  edit: just noticed in your first post, you'd already put up your texture quality and mipmap settings, sorry for missing that. Sinky
It's got me stumped, when I think about it I'm sure I saw this appear in patch .6, much less pronounced but it was there. Mustang
Just jumped in and took a snapshot over the area of the map that you flew over to get your screenshot: although it isn't as blurry as your picture, i do notice a bit towards the top edge of the picture....i'm wondering if it's something to do with the settings i tweaked earlier in the High.lua file, i'll do some more testing. edit: right, i've just adjusted my High.lua file, noise1back now set to "noise1back = 50000.0;" and i get this: if you compare with the picture above, you can see there is quite a marked difference, although theres the slight side effect of darker terrain, especially on those fields. Sinky
Just tried your tweak, changing the High.lua file inside the Config/terrain folder. I used the Black Sea Runway Start mission for testing. While I can see a massive difference in your screen shot, it appears just as bad on my end. I've attached a few screen shots. I appreciate the effort your putting in to try and fix this. Mustang
Very mysterious. Ok, lets try something else: go into your graphics.cfg and hunt down line 286 "LandLodDistances". Change the default parameters to match these settings i use: LandDay { L01 = 30000; L12 = 50000; } LandNight { L01 = 30000; L12 = 50000; some have said that these settings have no effect in DCS A-10C, but i still have a feeling that they do have some impact (P.S please remember to backup your original files whilst doing all this)
Sinky
Still appears to be no change, attached a few more screen shots including one of my options. Only the resolution and MSAA have been changed from the settings the sim suggested after the reinstall. Mustang
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/anti-aliasing-nvidia-geforce-amd-radeon,2868.html happy hunting This issue has nothing to do with anti-aliasing.
Sinky
Yeah it's more likely anisotropic filtering than anti-aliasing. I doubt that is the case in this instance though, seems to be a change made to the sim. It is strange how some are getting it and some aren't. Insanatrix
I noticed actually that after I reinstalled the full 0.7 install my ground textures were quite blurry as well. This was from a patched 0.6 to 0.7 install.
Sinky
I tried with HDR off when I was testing the flickering I had. I don't remember it fixing the blurry problem but I will test that and also the high vis distance when I next get a chance to jump on the sim. Sinky
Using high visibility distance it looks perfect. I think this is down to Mustang's tweak in the High.lua. I thought it was changing settings for the high scene setting so when testing I never set my visibility to high. This meant I never saw the changes. You could try applying his tweak to medium.lua if you use medium vis distance. Thanks Mustang, won't let me give you rep at the moment though.
