Quirkitized Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Who else thinks this is probably one of the greatest additions? It was mentioned before on twitter for 1.1.0.8...iirc. Will save so much time and effort writing everything down, printing, phone app, etc etc. Can't wait to review briefing while on the fly (literally) this is suppose to be a nice way of saying....when you think 1.1.0.8 will be realeased? :D :D 1
LordWolf Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I just wish the game would have quicker loading times or gradual loading, i don't think anyone would notice since we start on the ground...
Mule Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 The pay off for longer loading times is well worth it when you think about how bad the fps were in the previous version. I remember the days when we used to load games from tape into the Spectrum 48k that took 20 minutes. Everyone wants everything now now now now chill man it's not that long. Fighter Pilot Podcast.
MTFDarkEagle Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 when you think 1.1.0.8 will be realeased? :D :D - When it's finished - Two weeks :D Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
JEFX Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 What exactly was mentioned about briefing? I am interested too [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust... In real life I fly a humble Cessna Hawx XP II with 210 HP :D
Quirkitized Posted April 17, 2011 Author Posted April 17, 2011 It was a post on twitter about being able to view the briefing of a mission while in cockpit, here was nate confirming it http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1157214&postcount=105
Zorg_DK Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 yes nice new feauture, looking forward to it. "There are only 10 types of people in the world — those who understand binary, and those who don't." [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
TRoe13 Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 @ long loading times: After patching I did have these LONG loading times. Not a big deal, I was prepared to deal with it. However, totally unrelated to the sim, I did a defrag of my hard drive and I now noticed my load times have shortened dramatically. I used the free defrag program Defraggler from Piriform http://www.piriform.com/defraggler . Not saying it is a definite fix, but might be worth a try just to see if it works for you. My PC: OS: Windows 7 64 bit CPU: Intel Core i7 950 Quad Core @ 3.07 GHz RAM: 12GB Corsair Dominator DDR3 GPU: EVGA GTX 580 Black Ops Edition HOTAS: Thrustmaster Cougar Track IR v4
Steel Jaw Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 The pay off for longer loading times is well worth it when you think about how bad the fps were in the previous version That may be so but the micro stutters are still there. PlainSight Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Briefing should be available on the Message mfcd pages, you can read it while you wait for the alignment. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
-Ice Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I do get a small stutter when my missiles/bombs hit... like half a second as the computer gets the "explosion" graphics out. - Ice

Commodore Pet, 32 and 64 used cassette tape player before they developed a hard drive. Well, your statement dates you... LOL Just think of the days when any program I used was typed in! SFJackBauer Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Could have been available as a virtual kneepad if our virtual pilot had virtual legs. That way you could also write things on kneepad, have maps, charts etc. Anyway the announced feature already existed in MP and its very handy, so its good to be present in SP too.
