Teufel Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I recently bought the Warthog plus the MFDs from Thrustmaster. Currently I use it for Black Shark, not having to touch the mouse during flight really adds to the experience so much. It’s hard to imagine to have to go back. I still have a big grin on my face when I even only look at it :D Now I start dreaming of a small desktop-pit with the MFDs attached to my old 18” screen… Maybe I should add that my previous stick was the Aviator from Saitek, so more or less every modern HOTAS would have been a big step up for me. I decided to make a very big one. If you have the money: go for it! :pilotfly: Du suchst eine Staffel für gelegentliche gemeinsame Flüge, anfängerorientiert und ohne Zwänge? Wartski Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I'm sticking with my Cougar. I think the Warhog is waaaaaaay overpriced. W7 x64, i7 965, Rampage II Extreme, GTX480, 6GB Corsair 1866 cl7
coolts Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 (edited) My Cougar was officiially retired when i got my hog. Its amazing and very "authentic" feeling in a heavy metal kind of way, as was the Cougar. If I had a modded cougar it would be the throttle that would still sway me. If I was holding back due to the cost, see how much you can get for your current HOTAS on eBay. no point having two, (unless DCS:Viper is next ;) in which case a lot of old cougars will be getting brought back from the dead) Edited May 13, 2011 by coolts [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 9700k | 32gb DDR4 | Geforce 2080ti | TrackIR 5 | Rift S | HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO Pedals

That's cause they finally seem to fix the bricking problem, only took them 6+ months. automag928 Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 For what its worth, I'm using my x52 (non-pro) and it has been decent, with the MFDs. Recently I scored a x65 on eBay for right at $150. For the difference in price between the x65 and the warthog, I think I will be pleased. Granted the x65 isn't "perfect" by any means, but it gives me a considerably better stick than the plain x52 with dual throttle control.
Ptroinks Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I love my HOTAS Warthog, and together with TrackIR (a must-have for flying the A-10), flying is a lot more fun! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
