Hiya boys!!

I got ahead in the campaign, all the way to the Alaska mission at night. Now having read the JTAC sequence, I follow.

1- Contact JTAC what I have what he got and play time (is that the time I'll take to be on the IP waypoint?)

2- JTAC id as type 1, 2, or 3 (elaboration? I know one uses laser and another the IR strobe, but the third is a coordinate only, what's their classification?)

3- 9-line spit out

4- Readback

5- Remarks

6- Then the TAD has this red triangle with attack and CINCPO or whatever as OSB then I want to use the coordinates he just gave (which in the talk on are not lat long, but rather Golf Echo9885765 (Nato Alphabets), which I don't know how to input into the HUD as waypoint (even though I read that guide by somebody here), how do I edit or insert a waypoint in between? More importantly, how do I hook that red on the TAD? once hooked I'm able to designate my TGP and subsequently, the mavs.

One workaround to this is to use the TGP and the MSG RCVD page to slew the TGP to datalinked coordinate, but I'm sure there is/are another way(s). Be kind and let me know guys. Lasing isn't working, at least confirmed by nightvision in a night mission with TGP and laser on, code 1688. What is the problem?

ILS landing:

Procedure:

Fn2 UFC, Divert on CDU, Batumi, ATC and ILS freq respectively, NMSP-> STPT/ILS , morse, ATC contacted, then I fail in learning which knob to turn (Heading or course or both?) and where is the heading to Batumi on the CDU page? 56?

Thanks

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

# With TAD as SOI, slew the TAD Cursor to the Assigned Target Symbol (red triangle).

# Verify presence of Hook-Line between Ownship and Assigned Target Symbol and Hook Assigned Target Symbol with TMS Fwd Short.

# With Assigned Target Symbol (red triangle) hooked, set the Assigned Target Symbol as SPI with TMS Fwd Long.

# Assigned Target Symbol will now be the SPI. Visually confirm with presence of SPI (wedding cake) symbol in TAD where it intersects with the Assigned target Symbol (red triangle).

# Slew sensors to SPI with China Hat Fwd Long.

JTAC type is how much control the JTAC maintains over your attack. Type 3 basically means that there's nothing but bad guys out there so go nuts. Type 1 means there's friendlies or civilians very close and you will have to maintain communication and report your roll-in and approach.

Also stop with the stupid fonts. We aren't going to pay any more attention to you because you want to use some lame 'style'.

1. Play time is how long you can stay and help him. If you have enough gas and don't have a clarinet recital to go to then you can stick around for hours.

2. JTAC control is how tightly controls attack. Type 1 has to see the target and the plane both before cleared hot. Type 3 here are the coordinates, have fun and call me when you blow it up.

6. Make a new waypoint, change from L/L to UTM, type coordinates in to scratchpad, enter data into coordinate line for that new waypoint.

ILS. HDG knob just turns the bug as a reminder, nothing else. CRS knob turns the whole inner card. FLD INFO page won't show you exact runway heading, best you can do is for example RWY 14 =~ 140°.

Thanks slacker!

Noc, regarding the editing or insertion of a JTAC provided coordinate set as a waypoint, here are your options.

First off, you will not find it easy to insert a new waypoint in-between two existing waypoints in your flight plan. The reason is that you would have to edit one of the existing waypoints to make it your JTAC target, and by editing it, you have lost it's original position.

The easiest way is to create a new waypoint in your flight plan, and give it a unique name. Then to access it, switch the STEERPOINT dial on the Auxillry Avionics Panel (AAP) from FLIGHTPLAN to MISSION. Then you can cycle to it using the steer point rocker on the UFC. I cover all this process with pictures in my Coordinate Entry Tutorials.

You can also use the CDU to create a new flight plan that has just your targets, and then switch between them.

Hope this helps answer your question.
