You'll have to do the job with the same number of people the RAF have been doing the job with for years. In fact, based off my experience with the AAC you'll still probably have more people.

I know we have been struggling for yrs, and these latest cuts will hurt us even more. Anyway as you said thats another Topic :)

 

My Heli wish Would be the Puma, however unlikely that would be, However any utility Heli will suit me fine :)

But people who play this kind of product enough to hang out on this forum aren't exactly a representative selection of "civilians". :P

 

When it comes to the scenario you are talking about you have to consider something else as well - not everyone is a moviemaker, so most people will be inspired by something they saw and do something similar. This isn't stranger than the fact that a group of kids that listen to metal are more likely to start a metal band than they are to start a country band. :P

I am interested in what the new rotor configuration is on the Z. Also shocked at how much is still shared with the venom UH-1Y. Engines and drive system seem easy enough to get into both frames, but just about every other physical aspect of the 2 designs are different. They still claim 84% similarity.

My vote goes for any sort of utility/transport bird. (Preferably UH-60L/M (Preferably L because analogue is better than glass) because that's what I plan to do in the Army.:D) Ideally, there would be several utility helicopters available like the; UH-60 (Hopefully with a pylon option), CH-47, UH-1, CH-53, Mi-8, Ka-27 and Mi-26. There's still a lot to do to get them in their own modules, but some of the work is already done, as they are already in game.

 

There's a lot of potential for different mission sets, including insertions, extractions and sling loads as well as the odd fire support mission in the case of helicopters who can use the required weaponry. As said earlier in the thread, it would be very interesting to do CSAR, rescue downed pilots and return them to base and get them airborne again. However, the pilot on the ground would need significantly better controls than what we have now for escape and evasion/ the ability to pop smoke or flare. The use of some small arms wouldn't hurt either for self defense. (Not that I'm trying to make this ArmA or anything.:music_whistling:)

 

Another thing to consider is that these helicopters all have Co-Pilot seats, most have gunners as well. These could all potentially be players, though it could get boring after a while. That said, I think that there should be the option for units/clans who want the helicopter fully crewed by humans.

 

I know that this is a tall order, but I don't really expect any of it to happen. Just wishful thinking I suppose.

Anything is possible in the future. There is nothing to stop a utility/transport chopper being made at some point.

 

While not something I'd be interested in flying, it'd certainly add a lot to flying a CSAR mission in the Hog.
