Turned out pretty good, the price is nice. Any idea what their international shipping charges are like?

Do you find any issues with the misalignment of the gluing on the spine, or doesn't it matter in practice?

I don't have any idea what international shipping will be, but my charge was $3.99 USD for shipping to California. There is no problem with the gluing on the spine hopefully it lasts a long time, but seems extremely strong and flexible to me. I've been opening the book to various places and pressing it down so it lays open and it always goes back to normal after I close it.

I find glue disbonds quite quickly .

Im holding out for the ones originally mentioned in this thread , as they seem to be updated , and I said that I would buy one from the start ..... and their bound .

Besides regular 20# copy paper being used this book seems no different than other "perfect bound" paperbacks I've seen like textbooks and such. Unless you mean that you'd prefer spiral binding or a ring binder, then a bound hardcover book is going to have the spine glued in the same way, except for maybe it also being reinforced with cotton weave and a headband. It would have to be printed on ledger paper and folded into signatures in order for it to have been stitche or oversewn which is highly doubtful.

I wouldn't worry about the glue as long as it is acid-free and dries so that it is flexible like rubber.

But I'd also love to have one with the latest updates printed in A5 in that awesome binder. I probably check this damn thread twice a day for updates :D

Me too. Looking for either a spiral bound or ring bound manual. Also wondering what other issue/updates they make to the Hog before it's considered "finished". I've been holding off on playing with it (also been busy IRL) until the official "this is the last update for A-10".

Find it hard to believe ED couldn't find a low quantity printer to run ~300 manuals ring bound in black and white. Really dropped the ball IMO - no I'm not getting an e-reader for this.

Does anyone know if Lulu still offers that $25 coupon on new accounts? Saw the post was about a year old and curious to know if anyone recently has had success with the Warthog manual from Lulu.com

Thanks!

Hi mate,

sorry i dont know that. I ordered mine yesterday. Tomorrow it will arrive. I for myself thinking its a fair price. Paid 25€. Cant wait to get it and read it.

I am happy with it cause it would be much more expensive printing it myself.

S!

Still waiting for that anounced here. Meanwhile i can read this one.

Yea, I'm kind of assuming that the deal is no longer valid since I read a post dating back to 2009 :D

As for the Lulu manual, congrats to you and I might do the same as well. Only thing holding me back is the manual on Lulu is version 1.0.9 and I believe the current one in the documentation area is v1.1.1, I wish there was a way to update the Lulu one with the most current one! Not sure if anyone knows if that's possible or who is in charge of that publishing? If you're not sure, here's the link again: http://www.lulu.com/shop/digital-combat-simulator/a-10c-manual/paperback/product-17165999.html

Anyone can create those books in lulu, just upload a pdf and make a cover for it and you can buy it yourself. I made a coil bound manual for myself that way (split into two parts) with cover images in theme of the Ka-50 manual, it cost less than 30 euros with shipping using some discount code I found from the internet. I cant offer it for sale though since I dont have permission for the manual or images used in the covers.

Hardest part was splitting the PDF into two parts, amazing how hard it can be to do the simpliest of things in Adobe Acrobat :book: :)

In Acrobat X? It takes 10 seconds or less.

Hey thanks a million and then 10 more times! Lol, I literally spent almost the whole day editing and creating something that I really liked from your suggestion. Most difficult part was the cover as in my eyes, it says a lot (i know it's about the insides that count :) ). There's a LOT of different options for anyone interested in this, and you get a lot of customization. Highly recommend it, as I uploaded what I believe to be the most version of the manual, dating back to 8/27/12. Thanks again Kegetys

Just uploading the pdf doesn't work for me in lulu. Apparently I need to "embed all fonts", and since I only have Acrobat Reader I can't do that. Tried uploading it more than once...no joy...

So , whats happening with this print then ?

Is it on the way or not ..... I cant wait much longer for this manual ?

Anyone got a link to a good shop in Europe that would print it for me ?

Talk about a speedy process! Just had my manual delivered today after trying my own with Lulu (ordered morning of 10/19 and received today - chose free shipping and got it in 2 days). I've got to say I'm very impressed with the quality. Highly recommend

I've attached some shots to show the great contrast on the pages as you can clearly read all diagrams and what not.

And if you're interested in this same manual (based off of most recent publication as of this writing) here's the link

Anyone know if there's an equivalent service in the UK?

Lulu apparently is international, I now have an account on the site in my own language (dutch, as I'm from Belgium). Like I said before, the only trouble is uploading the pdf with all the fonts embedded in it (whatever that may mean...), and according to lulu you'll need a payware version of adobe for that. I'm not gonna be spending on software that I'm only gonna use once, so that's where I'm stuck right now...

Maybe chaotikchiken can give us the link to the version he made? If that's at all possible with author rights and whatnot.... The previous version is still available.

I've got no problem with doing that as long as I get an approval from a Mod. I'll update with a link if I do, and what not.

I was doubting whether to go down the "Lulu" route, but I finally made the decision and ordered not only the A10 but also the P51 manual :).

Thanks for the effort!!!

Had to register to say: Thanks!

Doesn't look like Lulu offer the free delivery in the UK but this is effectively covered by the discount code - can't wait for my copy to arrive

Is it possible to get it in color from lulu ?

That crossed my mind but, if it is, I don't think I want to know the price. ;)
