Witchking Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 yup! If u are thinking of the apache air assault.....new one arcade-ish sim, it is fun. Always nice to play those games for environment. Little soldiers running around, trees that are a bit more than sprites, smoke and damage effects/fire/explosions that are nice eye candy. :) Would be awesome if DCS had those kind of building/vehicle damage fx....rather than pop and black smoke. :p But well... :p WHISPR | Intel I7 5930K | Nvidia GTX980 4GB GDDR5 | 16GB DDR4 | Intel 730 series 512GB SSD | Thrustmaster WARTHOG | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR4 pro | |A-10C|BS2 |CA|P-51 MUSTANG|UH-1H HUEY|MI-8 MTV2 |FC3|F5E|M2000C|AJS-37|FW190|BF 109K|Mig21|A-10:SSC,EWC|L-39|NEVADA|
rextar Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 Can you use the cannon in mp ? I mean be the gunner and look through the flir? Ive heard not but it has had patches? EagleEye Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) Can you use the cannon in mp ? I mean be the gunner and look through the flir? AFAIK, no shared cockpit for MP. It was announced to have this feature, but it never made it into release. You can look through the flir and fire the cannon as pilot. Ive heard not but it has had patches?PC version have a beta version you can get with yuplay and mission editor is included. Though the devs are busy with World of Planes and can`t further support AAA yet. Hi all! Thanks for waiting - not it happened. Here is link apache update version 1.0.2.0 http://yuplay.com/story.php?id=2735 It bring to game versus mode and user missions support. Here is link to editor http://yuplay.com/story.php?id=2736 It have to be installed after update. We know that update can have some issues or crashes - it changes much in the game. That's why this is not official update, but closed beta of future official update. So, please, inform us of any issues in special forum that we have opened for this purpose (not here). Also, I can recommend to install full game with different windows user in different folder (and better not in Program Files, but somewhere else), then patch it with 1.0.2.0 version and then install editor. Also you can copy save game from your previous user. 1.0.2.0 is not compatible with previous versions of apache in multiplayer, so you may want to run 1.0.0.2 version sometimes to play with friends or whatever. Special not for editor: 1. it is in English only (and always will be) 2. I recommend to install game in different folder then default (Program Files\...) or run it under administrator - because you wont be able to edit missions in game folder without that 3. editor will have all original missions to play with - have fun. Sharks in the Water to hard? - change it You have to be logged in on Gaijin Forums to have access to the Beta thread. Some unofficial statement from MACADEMIC (forum moderator): Hi all a few of us are wondering what's going on with Apache at the moment. Since the release of the Beta 1.0.2.0 and the Apache Dagor Mission builder we haven't heard much. I was able to get some inofficial answers. The situation is that Gaijin is bound by its agreement with the game's publisher and is not free to talk or decide about Apache. Whatever they do, they can't do it without the publisher's approval. They could develop all they wanted but cannot be sure that any of it would ever get officially released. As it is this would even seem very unlikely. So Gaijin has to focus on projects where they can be sure that their work will bring results and not end up in a drawer. I think that's understandable. Where does that leave us? On the PC 1.0.2.0 Beta is nice but has some bugs which stops some of us playing it. For example, I love Apache and like the new features but won't play the Beta since the free view in cockpit doesn't work. We also got a mission builder which however nobody has really been able to use since we don't have a tutorial or wiki with it. I would love to create missions and exchange them, but at the moment it's a no go. Gaijin understands this and has indicated that they would fix the bigger bugs in the Beta and make a tutorial, but it won't be very soon. All their resources are tied up at the moment. If they really do this it would speak of their commitment, although I wouldn't expect much more development to go into Apache. I really hope that Gaijin will make another helicopter flight simulation game in the future, with better publishing rights as they were able to secure for their new WWII flight sim. If they manage to introduce a single helicopter multi-crew COOP into a future game, I'm sold. joey45 Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Can Publishers really stop devs fixing their games?? The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
