I don't understand why ED don't just release BS2 on Steam as a full standalone game, and then include a 50% reduction for those accounts that already have BS registered. It's been done many, many times on Steam and would work PERFECTLY.

I hope ED works around this because it's going to determine if I ever buy another ED title (much less BS2).

Unfortunately, for undisclosed reasons, Steam has declined to sell Black Shark 2.

That's a bitch move on Valve's part. Where should we direct our rage towards? And more importantly, how can I upgrade my Steam version?

I would reccomend a polite petition of their forums if you wish to protest as one of their customers, but I would ask you to refrain from raging :)

I can't believe this would be more niche than all that train sim crap they keep releasing on there. I'm glad I didn't get the Steam version now, hopefully this doesn't end up happening to A-10C.

Well, you have two sides to every conflict.. DCS has not been on Steam long.. they already have a new Black Sharks up.. added A10c and now want another version of Black Shark up... Steam may be saying, use one or the other.. then it comes to sales.. maybe DCS is not selling on Steam.. so they (steam) don't think it's worth the time invested to add the new one..

Best bet.. wait for the fix for steam users if your tight on funds..

or like myself..just go ahead and buy it out right from DCS and be done with it.. at 40 bucks more.. who really cares..

it's our hobby.. DCS must need the money or wouldn't suggest it and gave it away...wake up..they need to make money!

so give it up.. and let's get back to enjoying the game..

We get to buy the nevada map next..;).. who said we aint hav'n fun!!

To be precise:

DCS:BS1 on Steam uses Steam's integrated DRM. Obviously, Steam DRM does not generate a starforce key, which is what the download versions on the DCS site use.

DCS:A-10C on Steam cannot use Steam's integrated DRM, since there is no 64-bit support in that. So it uses what Steam classes as "3rd-party DRM" - Starforce ProActive, same as on the DCS site.

Have you tried to sell it as DLC instead of a seperate store item?

That would make more sense and as far as I am aware, will be less of an issue to get DLC listed instead of a new product.

Can't comment.
