Framerate... BS 2 better or worse than BS on same old hardware?

Title says it all. I'm worried with all the graphical goodies that the framerate will be worse in BS 2 than regular BS and it is making me very hesitant. Can anyone give me any input into this?

 

Upgrading is way outta the question right now btw. :) (maybe an overclock but that is about all I can afford)

On my system:

blackshark 1.0.2. on highest: about 60fps

Blackshark 2 on highest: consistent 48fps

 

Specs:

intel 2500k processor

8gb memory

gtx560 1gb

and more irrelevant.

Its going to depend on your settings, theoretically you could turn all that stuff off and get the same performance as BS1 I haven't tried it meself hence the theory

I get less fps with BS2 here. Similar to the numbers Sense has above. Have tried many settings.

Got less fps - although its a fresh install - no mods at all - have to stay/fly with less than medium (although cockpit shadows enabled)... can´t be :(

Cockpit shadows can be a significant hit on frame rates.

Not sure why, but I seem to have a significant improvement in fps over A10 and on higher settings, compared to original bs feels about the Same

High settings in BS2 are much higher quality than High in BS1, so it kind of makes sense that your FPS will be lower does it not?

My frame rate has dropped dramatically. I used SoftTH to run BS1 in full screen mode. I was getting 35fps+ most of the time.

 

I have not been able to get SoftTH to function with BS2 (yes, I switched to the 64 bit executable). Running in Windowed mode is giving me about 18 fps. If I run in full screen I cannot export my Abris and Shkval but I get 40+ fps.

 

Trying to figure out why SoftTH works with A-10C but does not appear to work with BS2.

Sure, sure, but, with BS1 my game was fullfilled with several mods - from AI to textures...nearly everything patched incl. HDR. My

graphicscard wasn´t that fast (GTX260 before).

Right now, fresh install, NO mods at all and a brand new GTX570 - still not playable - thats it....

 

But maybe I missesd something.....

Kind of schizophrenic truth be telt. Compared to BS v1.02 or WH it sometimes is just all smooth and slick (have mine capped at 30FPS), but when I put on bad weather and lots of units it's below 20 almost all the time. But then my computer really is substandard and even the 30 capped really is achieved by reducing graphical content plus max tweaking, so not sure whether my situation is in any way comparable...

 

But let's just say that when it works, it really works good :)

It's weird because Warthog always gave me better frame rate.

 

Running pretty massive resolution was possible in A-10C somehow I could get 55FPS running 2560x2600 (MFDs on bottom monitor).

 

Blackshark 1 though was 20fps as soon as I went multimonitor with it (but 60 fps single screen 2560x1600)

 

Blackshark 2 I hoped would go up like A-10C since it's now 64 bit. But it's got the same FPS, so I have to run Blackshark on a single screen still.
