REL Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Hey guys Say I find a target and want to make my own Bullseye call. Is there a way to quickly calculate it with the CDU? Maybe even with the OFFSET page? Well I guess I'm looking for the quickest procedure if there is any. Thanks
GGTharos Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 ... TAD page. Look in the manual. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
july865 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 not sure i understand "make your own Bullseye Call". you cant "make your own B/E" that is set on the mission map. to find the B/E call from your location, use the offset page as you mentioned. In the lower right corner you will get bearing and distance. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] К чему стадам дары свободы? Их должно резать или стричь. Наследство их из рода в роды Ярмо с гремушками да бич.

Eddie Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 CDU wp page, select anchor pt, then the LSK/OSB next to HUD OFF. That switch the option to HUD ON and your bullseye position will be shown in the top right of the HUD. 1
shagrat Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) I guess he looks to reference a target's location etc. as a Bulls Eye Call. To do this you simply switch the TAD Hook Mode to BULL/HOOK (not HOOK/BULL!). Now use the cursor and put it over the map position where the "target" is. Or better use the TGP to exactly locate the target, or use the HUD's cursor... Create a markpoint (TMS right short, it's the same with all above sensors). On the TAD you see a new markpoint (probably "A"). Now bring the TAD cursor over the markpoint and hook it with TMS up short. Now the TAD displays the bearing and distance (and elevation) FROM the Bullseye TO the hooked Object (Markpoint, Plane, Waypoint etc.) in the downright corner. 106°/47 ...> Bearing from Bullseye / distance in NM ___ 670 ...> Elevation above MSL EDIT: HOOK/BULL shows the bearing TO the Bullseye FROM the HOOK... SmokeyTheLung Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I like to use the HOOK CURS option in the TAD (with the bullseye hooked). You will be presented with bullseyes info (lower right of the TAD) for the position of the TAD cursor. The advantage is that you don't need a TAD object to reference (except for the bullseye). That's the quickest way I've been able to figure out. A lot of good sugestions in this thread! 1 System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer
ED Team Olgerd Posted January 4, 2012 ED Team Posted January 4, 2012 Actually Eddie gave the best answer - ownship bearing/distance relative to the bullseye can be displayed directly on HUD by few clicks. Anybody knows a way to set the TAD to ALWAYS show the cursors Bullseye coordinates? Would be extremely useful to simply slew the cross to a bearing and distance and drop a markpoint, rather than working the CDU and OFFSET page. Yes, but then you have to fly almost directly above the "target", which given it is a medium range SAM is a bad idea ;-) Shagrat - Flying Sims since 1984 - Win 10 | i5 10600K@4.1GHz | 64GB | GeForce RTX 3090 - Asus VG34VQL1B | TrackIR5 | Simshaker & Jetseat | VPForce Rhino Base & VIRPIL T50 CM2 Stick on 200mm curved extension | VIRPIL T50 CM2 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Plus/Apache64 Grip | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals | WW Top Gun MIP | a hand made AHCP | 2x Elgato StreamDeck (Buttons galore)

shagrat Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) Yes. Hook an object, and change OSB 18 to BULL-CURS. Thanks! Have to try this... ...and back again! Works like a charm!!! This is quick as hell! Everytime you think you know a lot about the A-10C, you learn the next astonishing procedure! This thread gave me solutions I would never have thought off, alone. Thanks guys! Eddie Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Yes, but then you have to fly almost directly above the "target", which given it is a medium range SAM is a bad idea ;-) Bullseye isn't really intended to give precise locations, it's a quick and simple way for you to inform other pilots where you are over the radio without the enemy being able to use the information for their own purposes. If you want to tell someone where an enemy force is located so they can engage them, use MGRS or LAT/LONG coords. However if you want to alert people that YOU are engaging enemy forces in an area, that there is a threat in the area they should be aware of and avoid, or that you are in trouble and need help, bullseye is the way to go. For example, "Recoil 21, engaged defensive Mig-29, bullseye 123 for 45 angels 6, ******* help". Is much more effective than "Recoil 21, engaged defensive Mig-29, 12A BC 3456 7890, ******* help", by the time you've read out those coords you'll probably be dead already.

Hmm, not only. I had a mission running I'm working on last weekend. My CAP flight of two F-16 on their way to engage the enemy Migs called out two Tunguskas and a AAA with bullseye calls! With the procedure Olgerds told me in the post above I can now quickly slew the cursor to the coarse location, set a markpoint and avoid hovering right above enemy SAMs or AAA. Greatly enhances situational awareness, I guess. I even may use the markpoints as starting point for TGP search... dalat Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 BUT the bullseye bug is still not fixed, when I received some call, that is not match with my coordinates typed into offset page / bullseye. The new target mark on the map is littlebit moved against the real target. BTW when it will be fixed? Which patch?
Supersheep Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Speed has a mod for incorrect bullseye calls out here. I am not sure we are talking the same issue here. Edit: This is his mod I mean. Super- The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
