So if I just create an object, it's transparent, thus nothing in MV. Do I understand it correctly?

It needs a material and made cool.

 

Just drag a material map to the object [that sphere thingy, I use the slate editor] and make it cool and when you see it in game or in the MV it will show that colour..

I can´t enter in the FTPs of modelviewer y 3DMAX plugin. Page Crash at intent enter.

Check the alpha layer..

Can we get the arg e.g. instrument needle from viewer? Which version has this feature?

Not sure if any version has this because while arg 7 might be for altitude needle in an aircraft, it could be for radar rotation on a ship. Modelviewer has no idea if it is opening an aircraft of a ship so even if it had a database to check on, it would not be helpful.

I installed edmodelviewer 94949, but it is completely black for the object (all the textures). And I find 94949 is beta. Do you know which version is latest stable release?

As answered by someone on the previous page, you need to do the Make Cool and assign the texture. Check the first post for the most frequent resolution to issues like this. Also take a look at the basic guide in the first post.

Use 94949 for now. Chinese export is still being looked at. What version of Windows do you have and what language is it? Any language packs installed?

for dcs I can not fixed in 3d max 2014

Process for creating alpha channels changed between when TOMCATZ made that model and now. Although I have not done it recently, Joey's method looks right and he is usually spot on. (unless I tell him otherwise :P)

Forgot to mention I am using the lights [green-1, green-2, blue-1 etc] in the temptextures folders as a placeholder until I get around to doing my own. Internal use only I may add....

Hi all, I'm brand spanking new and moving over here from X-Plane. Looking forward to making my first module but couldn't find if there is planned support for Max 2015? What can I do if that's all I have?

Hi all, I'm brand spanking new and moving over here from X-Plane. Looking forward to making my first module but couldn't find if there is planned support for Max 2015? What can I do if that's all I have?

I'm sure they plan to add Max2015 to the fold...

 

john X - A2: To correct glass: Glass is no longer created by a checkbox selection field. It is created by a combination of a texture with an alpha channel, (TGA/ PNG) and 3ds max settings. The transparency level is controlled in the alpha channel of your texture, the color of the glass is done in the main channels. Once that is finished, follow the above steps but instead, select "Glass" as the material. Under "Blinn Basic Paramaters", pick your TGA/ PNG texture for the Diffuse and the Opacity channels.

 

Make a .PNG file Doesn't have to be too big, a few pixels each way.... I'll make a screen shot...

I'm sure they plan to add Max2015 to the fold...

 

I hope soon. My model is mostly built since it was planned for X-Plane...I just need to start doing the EDM stuff. All the parts are animated and textured. Are there any workarounds?

Ask someone with a version of Max that is supported IF they can export it in the .EDM for you?...

I know educational licenses give you the ability to go three version back. A standard one might grant you the same ability. Or like Joey mentioned, the only other option really right now is to give it to someone trustworthy to export for you.

Probably not since the creation of plugins would need access the source code. I would try requesting a license for an old version:

I do have access to 2014...but it's really a pain to have two versions installed and my workflow for other projects is already all set up in 2015. Is access to 2015 the only thing that would be holding up the development for it? Not sure if you're the developer or if ED is, but I'd be willing to sign NDA's or whatever if it would mean furthering the development and keeping it current. I have Entertainment Creation Suite Ultimate, so I should have whatever is needed to compile to it.
